Ellen | 3528 comments Janica learned at a young age to never take anything for granted. She had been diagnosed with cancer as a child but was successfully treated and considered cured. Now in her early 20's, having lived much longer than doctors had predicted, she lives on her own with wolfhound Balou and is often surrounded by a boisterous and adventuresome group of friends. Then she met Thomas. He was a quiet and rather reserved young man who somehow managed to interest the exuberant Janica. Their meeting was under unusual circumstances as she had found Thomas' brother Steffan on a bridge seemingly debating taking his own life. Taking Steffan in hand, she brought him home to Thomas' house and thus began what would be an amazing love story. Until Janica's cancer made its untimely return. Knowing the days of their relationship were severely numbered, Janica and Thomas vowed to grab all the colors of life while they could.

I enjoyed the story on the whole but the last half of the book became a desperate race against time for Janica and Thomas. It was just too sad although they tried to see the good in every moment. Just be warned that I imagine it can be very triggering for anyone facing similar circumstances.
