Spring 23 Read-a-Thon: Team Versace
Welcome, everyone! Looking forward to reading with you.
Feel free to put books you are thinking of reading under the Plans tab.

Hello all! I am really hoping to knock out a few books this week and clear my Libby. I have two books started: My eye read book is
has 125 pages left and my audio book
has 145 pages left (3 hrs). I will hold off to finish them until tomorrow. I am going to start
this evening and hope to finish it this weekend. I will be out of town tomorrow but not driving so I should have several hours of reading in the car. Looking forward to an awesome reading week!
Hi Everyone! I have company for a couple days but should be able to read a bit each night. I've got The Red and the Black going on audio. I'm about 1/3 through it so I'll be working on that quite a ways into the week. I'm reading a print book, Some Tame Gazelle, and have about 120 pages left so I'll hold off reading till tomorrow. Looking forward to reading with all of you!
Hi All! We got temp custody of my almost 6 month old nephew a month ago. We are still adjusting to a vastly different schedule. I'm going to try to preplan some reads for the readathon but he's having a hard time staying down tonight so......I may just be winging it this week!
This readathon is really not helping my existing urge to replace my whole wardrobe 😅 Excited to start reading with everyone tomorrow! I've been slow on reading lately so it's nice to have a push to get going again.
I put down that I am available all week which is true, but I forgot that with Easter and other commitments, I will be tied up most of Sunday and Monday. After that, I'll have more free time. I may be able to finish 2 shortish books tomorrow to kick things off.
Hey team. I've got a large stack of books ready to go, but I will be busy off and on this week, so I'll probably prioritize reading over checking in. 🤷♀️😉
Hello! I got added a bit late, but I'm excited to be here! I've got a couple of short books on deck/that I've already started, so I'm going to go see what I can do with the planning.
Hi everyone! I work a lot of nights so my life schedule is completely out of whack sometimes. I started and finished Murder at Haven's Rock after midnight last night. I'll put it under 'casual pants' - a book with a small town or rural setting as it is set in the Yukon
I finished My Name Is Lucy Barton and put it down for Avant Garde/Feathers — not totally chronological!
I was able to read another short book, Summer Campaign and put it under Formal/fancy event - a wedding is a major event in the book.
Finished The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy and I've put it under Avant-Garde/Fan for cross-genre, although this book fits a lot of categories so it's easy to move around if we need to! It looks like the prompts we're least interested in so far are books about offices, office wear on covers, holidays and black/white covers if anyone wants to lean towards one of those for their next pick. (Black/white covers is tough since SO many monochrome covers have colored text on them?)
I finished Sweet Bean Paste and I used it for the new-to-me author in the Avant Garde section - so all we need is one more undergarment and will have that one done.Side note though in case we want to move it: As the title is a type of food and it's on the cover, does that count or does it need to be actual food on the cover?
I also finished The Road Home but it's too short to count so it just works for pages read.
Checking in---this weekend has not gone as planned but I did finish Look Alive Twenty-Five. I put it under business shoes: set in the city (Trenton, New Jersey). Hoping to finish What I've Done this evening.
Me too! I think I'm going to be able to finish The Employees this evening. Sadly, I don't think I can justify it being an office workplace, because the employees in question are all on a spaceship. I might have to take the spot for socks/a short book, since we've completed our avant-garde outfit!
I completed Winter World today. I put it into 'Necklace: A book that is over 400 pages', the only spot left that it fit into.
I finished Angel & Hannah: A Novel in Verse and used it for the formal/handwriting or fancy font for the tile prompt.

Yes, you can count that if you want to

I finished This Is Not a Book about Benedict Cumberbatch: The Joy of Loving Something--Anything--Like Your Life Depends on It and put it under Humorous Book.
Good evening--I finished Wildlife, Warrants, & Weapons and put it under Casual shoes. She owns a campground and works in the campground as a hostess. I also finished What I've Done and put it on Business Tie: White-collar professional (she is a lawyer). I hope to finish The Violin Conspiracy this evening but not sure where it will go.
I finished The Red and the Black and put it for our second Formal/Necklace: a book with more than 400 pages. It didn't fit any of the prompts for the first round.
Finished The Violin Conspiracy and added for 300 to 400 pages. The only other prompt it fit was author not read before but put it on the other since that was full. It can be moved it we think we can get two sets done. Moving on to How Not to Drown in a Glass of Water.
A rough reading day for me - I've chipped away at Three Squares: The Invention of the American Meal, Bunny and Selected Poems (although trying to read poetry in a swift manner is...weird) but I haven't finished anything so here's hoping this malaise clears up before the week is over.
do we feel like this is black/white enough to count? It does have a little red on it that feels intentional.
Well, strictly speaking, it's not totally black and white. But for me, in ATY, I always feel it's fair to count any version of the book, and there's this one.
Other challenge groups may have other rules but I say this is ok.

Finished Girl, ForgottenI'm not sure where I should put it - it fits 300-400 pages, not entirely chronological, spanning decades, author I've read before

I think spanning decades is the hardest of those to find.

The baby and I were both sick yesterday, mine resulting in a migraine. There was no way I could stand to read (audio or otherwise). I've got a bit of lingering headache today. I've restarted my audiobook three times so far after losing focus. I still hope to get through it though as it is very short. Wish me luck!

Sorry to hear that, Amy! Don't worry about your reading, this is just for fun. The teams always finish more books than needed anyway.

I hope to finish Dark Angels today. It is full of characters of royalty and nobility, which is under Formal.
I finished my audiobook of The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle and put it under holiday because Christmas figures prominently in it.
I finished The Outcast Dead and put it for Casual/main character works outdoors.I've started Between the World and Me for Formal/black white and gray cover
I did complete the short audiobook In the Country of Last Things. I put it under "Ruffles: A book set in imaginary world"
No reading yesterday - work kept me too busy. But I just finished I Will Find YouIt doesn't really fit much for categories but it was due at the library!
Hello all--I wanted to check-in since I have not been able to for the past couple of days due to craziness at work (it is testing season--ugh!!!) I am hoping to finish an audio on my drive home and then have a reading weekend.
