It has been a few years since I've read book 1 and truth to tell, I really couldn't remember much. Or whatever it is I remember, I feel that it's all mixed up with another post-apocalyptic dystopian YA series. They can be so similar at times and there are so many of them. Even after finishing this read, I still could not quite separate one from the other. I mean, a group of teens left in the world gone to hell - what's new?!
Genesis is told from 2 perspectives, Noah & Min, and from the start, gave off a vibe of 'enemies-to-lovers' trope which I am very much NOT a fan of. It made a rather uncomfortable reading despite the fast-paced story. Even if you're a fan of this trope, however, it's actually very low vibing so may not be your thing either.
Min as a protagonist who is supposed to be the ONE was also very annoyingly passive. She's got her belief and she stuck to it BUT her lack of action or initiative was really frustrating. She's had to be pushed into place! I think I'm happy to leave this series here...
