Niki11784 | 22 comments I remember bits about the book, but I cant remember the storyline- the main character (hero) goes to this tropical island, meets the heroine who I think was partially indian or hawaiin, and they bring back a horse to England- there is a storm on the ship and they both stay with it overnight to calm it down. He then introduces her to english society. The author was definitely a well known author- maybe Brenda Joyce or Iris Johhansen?

Anita (daisydoris) | 23 comments This reminded me of an excerpt I read at the end of another story many years ago and I also thought it was a Iris Johansen book. I never did read but I would of liked to thats why I remembered it. So i did a search on amazon. If we talking about the same book I think it's Dark Rider by Iris Johansen. Dark Rider

Niki11784 | 22 comments I wonder if that is it? I'm going to read it to see :) Any other ideas? I thought it maybe it was Brenda Joyce because I remember that after they sailed to England, they transformed the heroine and some previous characters were there- a family tree type of series. Also, I think the brother in law was a ship captain and married them on his ship. Any other ideas?

Anita (daisydoris) | 23 comments I went on Amazon again and I checked out the Brenda Joyce books. The only one I could see which might be what you looking for is A Lady at Last by Brenda Joyce. Its part of the deWarrenne Dynasty. I hope this helps. A Lady At Last

Niki11784 | 22 comments No, not it :( I clearly remember the horse was brought over from the island and there was a big storm on the ship.

Niki11784 | 22 comments Still looking...I am more convinced than ever it is a Brenda Joyce novel- I think a de warren married the H/h on his ship when they visit England....any other ideas?

SBC (essbeecee) | 1594 comments Did you end up reading Dark Rider by Iris Johansen? I put in a second vote for that - it's a long time since I've read it but i'm pretty sure there was a scene like you describe with the horse on the ship.
