I started reading Dune last Summer and couldn't get into it, but looking forward to giving it another go.

it is quite hard to get in to. it's quite dry (appropriately!) I think. brilliant writing though. so detailed and imaginative.

I really like the layers of time, with the quotes from the religious writings from the future woven in. gives a great sense of depth and import, and is very intriguing. the characters are great, the way the Fremen speak demonstrates quite subtely how different their society and way of life is.
