Thank you so much, Alias! :)

Your disappointment in the Konrath sounds valid, which is

Thanks for sharing about the books you read last month. I also appreciate that you share the covers. This genre consistently has some of the most interesting covers i’ve seen."

Horror book covers are always unique and amazing to me. I am always seeing covers that just are different in that genre compared to some other genres. Sometimes I see unique covers in fantasy books though. :)

"Inspired by the life of a real World War II heroine, this powerful debut novel reveals an incredible story of love, redemption, and terrible secrets that were hidden for decades."

Yes, it sounds good. I hope it lived up to your expectations, Gabriella.

My book club read this one. I tried to listen on tape, but I thought the writing was bad. After three tries, during which I talked back to my Alexa, I gave up. The rest of the ladies loved this book, though, so I was the odd duck who didn't.

LOL. I usually listen to Alexa when I go to sleep. I listen to podcasts.

When I belonged to an in person book club, I often was the odd duck out. I think it's because I prefer non fiction.

LOL, Michele. Did she reply? When i mumble to my books that something is amiss, they remains silent. I’d prefer a bit of sass, i think. Having already read one 3-perspective story about WWII this year, this novel didn’t call to me.

Michele | 628 comments Alexa doesn’t respond to complaints, I noticed. But she will often yell out when nobody is speaking to her.

For some reason Monday though Friday my Alexa turns on and gives me the news at 7 AM. I've googled to try to find out how to stop this but to no avail. :( I think my Alexa must be related to David Goggins ! -- Navy Seal and author David Goggins

Michele | 628 comments Ha! Do you have an Alexa app on your phone? You may be able to stop newscasts from there. I cant get mine to turn up the volume. Can never hear her. 21C problems

How funny. Loneliness or energy saver?

No. On my phone I have Siri. I can put the Alexa app on that and see if that gives me any options to stop reoccurring alarms. Though when I look on the website form my laptop there is no such alarm set.

It's so odd. I can call Amazon for the Alexa issue. I just haven't bothered. My Alexa is old. They don't even make the model I have anymore.

That's too bad that you can't get the volume to go up. On my Alexa I have a button I can tap to raise/lower volume or I can say Alexa, louder.

Yes, 21C problems. However, I know I am dependent on this technology now !
