April Subdue the Shelf Roll Requests
Yes - I wrote it out too for you and sent it to you. And then texted Joanne my question about the House of the Cerulean Sea, which by the way peoples - I really just adored. And now have finished 12 of 15 Birthday Candles!!!! The good news about my (1st of 2) subdue error is that I got moved pretty quickly after that so it all came out in the wash. I really liked every single book I have read, HATED Tracey Flick), but all the rest were great.
Thanks to Joanne's Heroicism and Anita's Sleuthing, Amy is back with her nose pressed against the diamond slats looking in at the BookSwap, while hanging with Theresa in the First Class Lounge. No thanks to Goodreads which was having a little technical fit while I was trying to post my 12th birthday candle review and links. It kicked me off like five times! But what a beautiful book it was. So.... I am on my 12th book for Subdue (and 13th) and just finished my 12th book for Birthday Candles. So.... I feel like I have done a pretty good job. Definite Sangria and Puzzle Break. Does the next compartment have a jacuzzi or bath perchance?

I have no leg to stand on to say this, but I really am a sharp intelligent kind of a person with strong executi..."Amy,I totally identify. In a game for another group, I did a dice throw and landed on a book and realized, "wait a minute, I read this one a couple weeks ago". I hadn't gotten around to post a review or crossing the book off, or the equivalent for that game. It was just lucky I got the same number on the dice or I would have been on 2 paths at once and never realized it. I have 3 college degrees but not the best attention to detail!
Lordy, not one of you would make a good lawyer! Not even a mediocre one! [*ahem* Miss 'rules? what rules?' JoAnne included in that - Big Board expertise or not!] The most valuable advice from a law school professor was 'Read the Statute. Read the ENTIRE statute." Saved me and my clients many a time. The advice I give when training associates and staff: being a lawyer is 98% about detail, 1,5% hand holding, and 0.5% the law. Funny how these same pieces of advice apply to challenges and life. Not funny.
@Amy - The on board spa facilities are in the Royal Coach.
Meanwhile our puzzle, Dowdle Paris City of Lights, is kicking my butt! Not moving on for a bit as I have 3 or 4 non-subdue books to read and a heavy workload. We have plenty of time to finish this gorgeous but difficult puzzle! Might need some help from others hanging out in First Class Lounge.
I am in the last seat of 2nd Class, and with my special roll next turn I can by-pass First Class and worm my way into The Private Parlor Car! I should probably change my clothes and doll up a bit....nah!
I just wanted to say that I started the Paris Hours this morning and I really liked page 1-2 so far. And that the Court Dancer is ready for pick up after the three day Boston Weekend. I am about to go get it right now! I guess in a PBT tribute, I want to say that the Court Dancer has been on my TBR ever since we had the monthly tag of Korea. And that I associate it with a lot of people liking it for that tag, but particularly I associate this book with Joanne somehow.

FYI for our master game board:I am using the special advantage from Roll 6 (on April 11) to "move forward the number of runs scored by the Yankees tonight (11)". This takes me to #60 on my porter board. (Just posted the review from my most recent roll.) Thanks!
I'm ready for my next roll please. Winter of the world is over 900 pages. I am on the app and having a little trouble
Whew. I finally got my home wifi back up. I couldn't even find the "edit" spot on the app using my phone. Anita, here are the links to my most recent SUBDUE book: There were a few more but these were the first two.

A Friendly Reminder**Please, if you are moving around in the game, please make sure you update your boards as well. While I do track every roll in a spreadsheet, Joanne uses your boards to do the consolidation, and it's much easier for both of us if they are up to date with your latest rolls.
Thank you!
Train Management**
@Anita @Joanne. The book I landed on today is no longer available so I used a future award "move ahead 2 spaces when you want" earned on 4/5/23. I am now on #77 All My Puny Sorrows. I summarized the participation points and rewards from all the boards to my current Engineer 2 tracking thread. They show the dates earned and used.
My last 2 rolls were 6-4 so I get a special advantage!6-4 Earn a surprise advantage to use anytime during the game
Hello Subduers!I am headed to Washington DC for the weekend, departing around 2 pm.
LibraryCin is going to assist with handling the rolls while I'm away, and Joanne will of course also be helping. I will check in when I can too.
Robin, I will get you your advantage before I depart. Thanks for the alert!
There will definitely be a delay in the posting of Consolidated Boards. Sorry about that.

Your special advantage is that you may leap ahead to the next book on your board that has the tag for the month (more than 5 taggers are required). You may use it now, or save it for a future date.

The good news is I see how you are on 77 now! So there's just the one skipped book that needs to be read, and then you are situated. I sent you a PM with specifics.
