April Subdue the Shelf Roll Requests

I'm sorry, Pam, but you've been selected by the randomizer.
On your next turn (after you finish reading and reviewing whatever book you have going), you need to move back 6 spaces.

Oh no!! Well I was waiting for my name to be called somewhere, but it wasn’t here 😂

Amazon shows that the hardback copy has 928 pages, so I think that is 6 rolls?

Hannah, when there are multiple hardcover listings, I think we've been going with the first Hard cover listing after you click on 'see all formats and editions,' unless it's inappropriate in some way (e.g. large print). When I searched for it, this one came up first, with 849 pages:

Nancy, that it what I had assumed and what I have always done in the past. However the book you have linked to says that it is illustrated, and I definitely did not read a comic-type version or one that had illustrations.
I'm happy to let Anita decide either way, as I know that she is fair when deciding how many extra rolls people get.

Thank you.
I don't remember if I mentioned it but the last one fit the friendship tag.

Hi Hannah! Thank you for the vote of confidence. I will investigate!
Update: I do usually go with the mainstream publication that is selling today as evidenced by what Amazon is promoting AND the number of third party sellers who also offer the book. I think that version has 849 pages. It's a little weird as you would think illustrations would actually add pages . . .but this version has tons of third party sellers, and seems like the main one being distributed right now.

Thanks, I didn't notice that. I also appreciate that Anita takes all factors into consideration. Each decision helps clarify it for the rest of us.

My apologies! I saw that, but guess I didn't note it. It is 4

That roll takes me off the board for Engineer 2nd Loop. I am working on a new Board for the next round. Is it Station Master or do I need another Engineer loop?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are Station Master level now. I set up a place for tracking.

Our first Station Master - spiffy new fancy uniform too!
The Cabanna Boys are extremely excited. I hear they are working out non-stop so as to be their buffest on your arrival. Extra temp bleachers are being added to their gym as its getting a little crowded with all the spectators jamming onto the limited seating.

I was thinking we had more rounds as Engineers. Wow this is moving so fast!

Looking sharp!

Anita and Joanne, You have me in the wrong seat on the consolidated gameboard! Theresa can stretch a little, even as we share hord'oerves. We can play a game, and toast, and have conversation. We can even maybe braid one another's hair, but we are not in the same seat. I am woefully sitting in Seat 73, and I need to regretfully stay there for a little bit due to a bit of abject stupidity that I need to resolve. Give me two weeks and I will be moving. I am at #73, the Paris Hours, on my gameboard. I think Theresa particularly would love this yet un-started book. I have the great feeling it will appeal to her. Since I am clearly starting a long puzzle that I got from Joy's Magic Hermoine Trunk, I can maybe lend it to her for a glance before she leaves me in the dust. Save room for me in the Parlor Car, though. I am indeed coming.

Ah, Amy, I love a good puzzle and as I won't be reading my book at my current spot for a week or so due to some catch-up reading, I will indeed stretch across the aisle to share snacks and clink glasses. You can read highlights of your book set in Paris, we can chat about landmarks mentioned. We can just set up that puzzle in rhe aisle and everyone else can just stay put or go around. Time someone besides Gnarly found the secret passages!

I agree you should be on 73, lol, but you have 77 bolded, and that's what Joanne uses to do the consolidated board.
So please unbold 77 and bold 73, and we will be all set!

On 4/16 I used my Special advantage from April 2, to add another player’s roll to mine. I noted it in my Engineer I and Engineer II logs. I’m using 🔹 to denote when I use a reward. I’m now on space #48. I already read this book so I’m reading my #47 book. How High We Go in the Dark is amazing.

Thanks for the info Nancy, it really helps if I do not have to read everyone's notes.

Should I start doing what I did once before -on the Porter? board. I kept most of the page under Spoiler covers (to shorten scrolling times), and every time I changed position I typed it at the top of the page above the spoiler cover.

I love your lists. They inspire me.

young anymore and seeing 🔹 is not a guarantee for me- 🤣
If I am not in sync with a player I usually check their notes, but for those of you that are stock piling advantages, *sigh* at times it gets confusing.

Ok!
I might also pick a bigger and more meaningful icon for a reward, to help me keep track. Like a trophy, gift or coin. Joy, what do you think?
🔹♦️🏆🏅🏵️🎁🍀

If a board is in active use, it's probably best to leave it open so Joanne can see the whole thing.
BUT, once you or anyone else is basically done with a board, it would be extremely helpful if you would use the spoiler tags to hide the whole thing!
Thank you!!!

I really am at 77, squished in with Theresa sharing a seat, unless she has moved. I just misremembered the number. The Paris Hours by Alex George. I read and reviewed number 73, a few books ago. 77 is really where I am at. I just have to read a missed book because of another instance of total idiocy which again I am chalking up to busy and inattention to detail. I wouldn't blame you if you did not believe me. But alas, this is the bed I have made...... Or more aptly, the train seat in which I sit.

Hey Amy,
I appreciate everything you are saying, but now that the patient is open, I went through the whole board, and I don't have you at 77. I think I have your email address and Joanne's. I'm copying your board and going through move by move so we can all three of us get on the same page!
