When you hit the 7, then you get to read 1 book forward or back. So on 3/10, you could make a choice of 1 of 3 books. That's not a save-able event for later. But maybe I am misunderstanding!!!
Apparently I misunderstood this rule:Any combination totaling 7: You move 7 spaces and stay on that space, but you may read the book you land on OR one book forward or one book back - - your choice.
If I was wrong in my thinking, sorry. Then I guess I will need a roll (1).

No worries!! Thank you for revisiting it.
I have a question please. I read a book tagged with 'friendship' but I didn't technically 'land' on it. It was chosen from another person's shelf due to a dice roll. Will the 'move ahead 2' still be in play?
Ellen wrote: "I have a question please. I read a book tagged with 'friendship' but I didn't technically 'land' on it. It was chosen from another person's shelf due to a dice roll. You can't select a book tagged friendship from another person's shelf unfortunately.
But you can post your review for that book and get the normal participation points.
And also, under Rule 5 in the main rules, you can claim 3 participation points within the context of the game. That only requires you read a book that fits the monthly tag during the month of the tag.
5. If you read a book that fits the monthly tag, you will earn 3 participation points. You must finish and review the book during the month of the particular tag.

As it is, I am happy to have read it to find out what the hoopla was all about, so will stay where I am.
I would like my next roll please. If possible, I would also like to use my extra 2 dice rolls that I gained when I finished The Housekeeper and the Professor on 25/3/23 as it was tagged Japan by 886, now 894, people: https://www.goodreads.com/work/shelve...
Thank you!

(so sorry, Hannah, but that's what it rolled!)"
It's no problem - it's how the dice rolls! And at least I didn't land on the book I was trying to avoid by taking the extra rolls.
Booknblues wrote: ". I landed on Remarkably Bright Creatures, but read and reviewed it. It did have 55 people that tagged it friendship"You can still use the extra dice roll earned from that . . .if you landed on it, read it, and it was tagged by extra people, you may use the extra dice when you want. But make sure to record when it was earned on your tracking sheet. And when you use it.
If you land on a book that has the same tag as the monthly tag, you will get an extra move to use when you wish:
5-25 taggers - move forward 1 space
25-50 taggers - move forward 2 spaces
50-100 taggers move forward 5 spaces
😂 That once again gives me a 6+5 on consecutive rolls. I will take care of that when I finish my current book.

Glad to hear that as I just landed on another friendship tagged novel, The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat, which I plan to read as well.
Amy wrote: "But this is not for the clerk level, correct?"That is correct, Amy. On the Clerk level, if you land on and read and review a tag matching book in the month of that tag, you get 3 participation points. That's it.
So, for example, if the next roll takes you to a book that's tagged Friendship at least 5 times, and you read and review it before end of April, you get 3 participation points.
Personally, I'm only bothering to understand and remember the Clerk level rules and prizes. As it is, I'm moving through so slowly that I have to re-read them every single roll of the die! 🤣

I just check each time I get a new roll if it is one of the special ones (for my clerk level).

Heads up: I'm attending the 1:30 Orioles/Yankees game, so will try to do this right after I get home. May be around 5 pm or so.
Shake It Up SundayThere were 11 items in your list. Here they are in random order:
Nancy
Lol, I'm sorry, Nancy. You don't seem to be lucky on Sundays :(.
Please move back 3 after you complete your current book.
Anita, I totally didn't see your note above!!! Enjoy the game! Go Yankees!!!! Think not of dice in the least. We can all wait.
I'm going to post rolls now for those who have requested them so far, but I'll post more later.Rolls for 4/9:
KateNZ 2
Joanne 2-2
Cindy 2-6
Nancy 3
Olivermagnus 6
Amy 1-3
Joy 4
Hannah 4
Pam 4
Anita, I have a perhaps silly question.... I rolled a 1-3, which I assume is the same as a 3-1? This is a clerk level special roll where I get to move someone? i am obviously going to pick out a book for HayJay who is still sitting in the caboose! Something I know she would love. But this is my privilege, right? Because I have read an extra book for a 11, for both a 5-6 and a 6-5. This is the same, correct?

Anita, is this roll of 3 the same as my Sunday backwards roll from this morning, or are they separate? (They’re both 3.)
I have thought from the beginning that 3-1 is not the same as 1-3, 5-2 not the same as 2-5, etc. Can we get that clarified?
Robin P wrote: "I have thought from the beginning that 3-1 is not the same as 1-3, 5-2 not the same as 2-5, etc. Can we get that clarified?"They’re all the same. I’m pretty sure we’ve had examples of all the special rolls in both orders.
3,1 = 1,3
5,6 = 6,5
2,3 = 3,2
4,6 = 6,4
Added:
I couldn’t find it in the rules thread, but Anita posted this right after posting the first rolls on January 2:
“**Make sure to look to see if you have a special roll. I counted at least 9 people who do. Note the order of the dice does not matter so a 6-5 equals a 5-6.**”
NancyJ wrote: ".Anita, is this roll of 3 the same as my Sunday backwards roll from this morning, or are they separate? (They’re both 3.).."So you have two different rolls of 3. We were thinking you'll move backward 3, read that book. Then move forward 3 (and read one of the two adjacent books presuming you've already read the one you'll land on.
Does that make sense? I'm not sure if I'm stating things clearly enough.
If you prefer to reverse the two, that's fine with me as well (go forward first and then backward). Just let me know.
Robin P wrote: "I have thought from the beginning that 3-1 is not the same as 1-3, 5-2 not the same as 2-5, etc. Can we get that clarified?"This has been asked and answered somewhere in the past, but 3-1 is the same as 1-3. The order is not important.

I'm sorry - - yesterday was so busy that I didn't have a chance to orchestrate your special roll, but I need to assign the person you will be moving. You are correct that a 3-1 and a 1-3 are the same.
And the person you will move will be:
Olivermagnus
Please let us know where you want to move her. You get to decide which book they must move to next on their game board - - backward or forward -- within a 15 book radius.

Thanks, that’s what I thought, but I wanted to be sure before I started a new book.
The Shakeup came first, so I went back 3 (to #11). When I go forward 3 (to #14, which I just read) I’ll read the book at #13.
Thanks for clarifying Nancy, I was dizzy looking at all the 3's yesterday and left it to Anita where you should go🙄🤣
