Theresa, you will be moving Sue. Please let us know where she will be going.

My last roll on 4/21 moved me to 75.
I'm usually not bothered about where I am specifically, but wanted to make sure Theresa and Antia know where I'm being moved from.

Toot! Toot! Pack up your accoutrements and leash your hunky dogs, Sue, 'cause I am sending along some studly men to move you straight to the Royal Coach - #90 - Eventide! Relax and enjoy - as soon as you finish #75 that is.
🐕🐕🐕⁸🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️

Loving my new spot but I'm getting the side-eye from the other passengers. They can tell by my rumpled traveling dress that I may not really belong here. Plus I have a little purple stain from the blueberry muffins they were serving in the First Class Cafe. (Everyone in the Royal Coach is daintily nibbling cinnamon rolls).
But I'll be happily ensconced with my new book shortly - as soon as I finish my current book of course! - and won't even notice anyone else. And of course, my hunky dog is ready to growl at anyone unwelcoming.

Never fear - the Butler in the Royal Coach has already signaled the Wardrobe Attendant to give you a fresh kimono to relax in while your travel apparel is attended to.
P.S. you should have seen their condition on arrival - *sniff* 🙄

Ah Yes - Just delivered!

From rules - Any combination totaling 7: You move 7 spaces and stay on that space, but you may read the book you land on OR one book forward or one book back - - your choice.

That would be it! A special line ....of course.

I had to read that twice - at first I thought you were suggesting that I had hung my kimono in the aisle and was simply there in my seat hoping to be noticed by Fantasy Tom.
I can assure you that my open book is placed very strategically and all modesty is preserved.
But then no - it was just me letting my hem get all bedraggled in the aisle, letting the liquor cart just roll right over it.

Whipped through that Subdue book. Can't wait to review it. It had a slow sweetness to it. Very glad this challenge allows me to "get" to things I wouldn't have.

Amy, you will be moving HayJay315 so let me know what you decide on that front.

Every time a roll sends me past a book I didn't want to read I'm tagging it to be removed from my TBR in the future. For my own goals, this feels like a whole secondary level of Subdue the Shelf.

Don't forget about your new uniform fittings!
I noticed you mentioning in another thread having not read from the Women's Prize for Fiction nominees this year .... you should put them on your next board, especially if you have library holds already for them. I'm adding the books from my TBR that will help me finish other goals (I have a bunch of Edgar nominees from 2022 I want to read on my current board) and challenges for the year (like PS) as a way of hitting 2 birds with one stone. I use challenges to work through TBR anyway, so it all fits nicely.
I also like the sense of progress on multiple fronts. We all need that.

So true! And as I ID books to put on the next board to fill in for what I read, I keep fnding books that have me asking 'why is this in my TBR Towers?' Or 'what was I thinking!' Those get sent to the circular file - or if a print book, the Donate Bag.
Of course, there are all those shiny new books finding their way onto my TBR Towers...

I have never used a Swap before, but I think I need one. I went to go order the Edge of Falling by Rebecca Serle, my #88 for Subdue. But.... This book is horrible, and I absolutely do not want to read it or go near it or think about it. The synopsis has everything I would hate in a thought, not to mention a book. Plus its rating is 3.46. I probably put it on my list because I loved In Five Years so much. But please don't make me do this. What are the rules of a swap and how do I use it? I was hoping for a roll of 6, 8, 9, or 10 by the way. I would even let you pick it, although I imagine I still stay on 88. Or do I need to swap with something earlier?

I hereby move you From your current #5 Clerk Level, to #18 - Which is the Book Thief by Marcus Zusak.

You can read any other book you want, does not have to be on your board, BUT it must be at least as long as the book you landed on - hardcover pages. Just note in your tracking that you used a swap and what book you used and number pages. I used a swap on my #34. I know JoAnne used one also.
You lose both your free swaps at end of Clerk. Might as well use them.

Yes and check that the Amazon hardcover page lengths work - that is the pages guide being used. Just say in your tracking at your spot "swapped for 'xxxx' which has 'zzz' pages, which is same or longer."

What are you in the mood for?
Parts of Fruit of a Drunken Tree were difficult and violent.

Three days before the quarantine in 2020, author Hank Philippi Ryan and noted local journalist and TV personality, came to my house to talk about her book Trust Me with my book club. We all enjoyed an amazing night together, and then it was quarantine. There is a photo of the 6 of us women with Hank, each holding up our copy of The Murder List. Her next book, which we all purchased from her and got signed. Come to think of it, I owned my copy of Trust Me as well. I have her short story atop by physical TBR in the hall. So friends, where the hell is the Murder List? It certainly could not have just walked away. My house is pretty organized and I do not remember seeing it since.... Now this is a true mystery.

That's a good reminder. The Italian book will be a nice contrast to the indigenous books, but Kingsolver will have to wait (and I'll have to resist adding new holds.)
I love those "two birds, one stone" books. I've been doubling up tags, Subdue, and other challenges, and I finished the Around the World Challenge in March (I never came close to that before). The Seasonal Reading Challenge is more challenging.
My new subdue list has a some heavy books, so I need to sprinkle in some audios. I could still use 1 or 2 lighter (magical?) indigenous books.
