Amy Larussa | 6 comments I'm pretty sure it was not a YA book but I could be wrong I suppose. The main character had red hair and was fairly young somewhere between 9 and 12, I think at the start of the book. I believe her family was moving west when she was kidnapped. One or maybe both her parents were killed but her brother was not, her brother was also not taken. At some point in the book the tribe that was raising her moved to a more mountainous area for some reason. She had become friends with and eventually fell in love with the chief's son who eventually became chief himself. They married and had children. At the end of the book she's picking flowers alone? I think and is visibly pregnant and her brother finds her and he hates all native americans and is so enraged that he attacks and tries to kill her. Her husband was close though and saves her. Thats all I can remember, if anyone can help me find the book I'd really appreciate it.

Did you rule out the books on the list given already?

Amy Larussa | 6 comments Just finished looking at them I don't think any of them is the right one, although I did find a couple I plan to read.

Cycad | 133 comments I can tell you it's absolutely not Indian Annie: Kiowa Captive, which might get a hit on google because Annie is a red-head.

Amy Larussa | 6 comments It isn't either of those but yall do keep giving me new books for my reading list.

Charlotte Mccash | 90 comments Parts of your description reminds me of “Maggie Among the Seneca,” the second book in The Bread Sister of Sinking Creek series by Robin Moore. The main character is a red haired girl who’s captured by native Americans, and she does eventually marry within the tribe and become pregnant. The ending sounds different than what I remember though.

Amy Larussa | 6 comments I know for sure the main character's partner is still alive at the end and they are happy together and remain with the tribe at the end.
