YA book. I haven't been able to remember or find this book again. The young, male main character is on summer break. His dad tells him to tear down his mom's garden and he gets grounded after upsetting her. He is then forced by his mom to help his elderly neighbor with writing the obituaries of all the people in town. Everyone is dying one after another and they find out that the guy who is in love with the elderly neighbor has been killing off all the towns folk by putting rat poison in their food. He escapes on a bike and is later found I think. This takes place in a town that Roosevelt found.
