My ending thoughts

Rachel Heidenberg I'm not sure how to structure this so I'm just going to spit my thoughts out as they come. I just finished the trilogy so this will have spoilers.

- What happens when two witches touch each other's willstones? Some kind of stone kin or some sort of claiming? I would've liked more witches in the book, they ended up being the least explored culture of this new world since we only got to see them represented by the two Lilians.

- It really bothered me every time a mechanic whined about their privacy. You chose this, and she has proven to handle things responsibly.

- Rowan mentions in passing while training the new mechanics that Lily can do defensive magic like fireballs and lightning fingers and says he'll get to that with her later. But then NEVER DOES. You'd think someone supposedly invested in her safety would've made this one of the first lessons.

- In the end before she dies Lilian claims to merge all but the worst parts of herself with Lily, and then we get zero explanation about what that actually means. Does Lily have all Lilian's memories now? A book that spend the whole time trying to convince us how much Lily and Lilian were different, I'd think a merge of the two would be a big deal.

- Which brings me to the end and how abrupt it is. Others have already said it but it bears repeating, this needed a couple more chapters. We needed resolution for all the peripheral characters and a more satisfying Rowan/Lily scene AFTER this merge and after the battle. We got to ride along the whole journey with them and then got dumped instead of included when it was time to figure out what happens next. I felt like we deserved to see the group plan for the better future that they fought so hard for.
