Hi Jean - C can have no more than 2 books outstanding when I announce week 4. Therefore your first interpretation is correct.

Week 1 - read & completed
Week 2 - outstanding
Week 3 - outstanding
Week 4 - at some point selected and therefore outstanding, but a book must be completed in week 4 so that there are only 2 books not completed when week 5 is announced.

I think the confusion is that I didn't realise that week 1 was complete? I had missed C's week 1 completion post at msg 44.

What I've outlined above is the way it works...

Thank you! I thought I was correct but got confused. I do try to keep the completed commented posted at the beginning of our thread in case you do ever miss one. We are all up to date through last week now!

DNF @ page 124/168. Overall it was just really boring. There were also errors in the writing like the tense which was the biggest one for me. Also before she’s even told that they’re dragons she literally says something about them being dragons and then she finds out they’re dragons and is shocked?? Like huh??
I would maybe try this author again? Not sure.

Review: I really enjoyed experiencing Johnny and Shane getting to know one another. I liked that the author showed how the age difference and life experiences can effect a relationship in both positive and negative ways, and these characters didn't shy away from the things that made them leery.

Shane and Johnny met one another in a time in both their lives where they needed someone to shine a mirror on them so they can see themselves more clearly. The did that for each other while experiencing this unstoppable chemistry.

The only thing that I wish was explained is why Shane made it seem like public displays between Johnny and himself was a problem. There was nothing that happened that made it seem like the people in this small town were homophobic. Heck the owner of the restaurant and Shane's friend was also gay and married. I guess that was supposed to be a read herring?? Either way, I wish the subject had came up in conversation at some point.

Review: Suzanne Wright really knows how to incorporate the things I love in her books: wonderful world building, kickass heroine, alpha male, and lots of sexy times.

The world had already been established from the Phoenix pack series, Ally is a badass heroine who can take care of herself in all the ways that matters, Derren may be beta in the pack, but he is dominant in all of the best ways, and the sexy times were really hot.

So about the story, Ally is a Seer. She is originally in a pack where someone is out to get her. She knows who it is, but things are looking bleak. She gets the assistance of a friend, who calls in a favor to Derren and she ends up at the Mercury Pack. Sad thing is the members of this pack doesn't trust Seers. If you've read the Phoenix pack series, then you know some of the why. It's understandable, but it annoyed me because they were judging her on what other did without giving her the benefit of the doubt.

Ally is a force of nature though, so she took it in stride, and just remained true to who she is and eventually the tides turned.

Derren's life had been affected personally by a Seer in his youth, so he didn't trust her either, but he helped her anyway because of their mutual friend called in the favor. The thing is no matter how much he didn't trust her, he couldn't control the draw he had to her.

Once the started on their intimate journey, it was hot and things quickly started feeling like more.

It was great ride with a lot of action thrown into the mix.

My Midlife Crisis, My Rules (Good To The Last Death, #4) by Robyn Peterman

📝Review: This book is perfection (except for the lack of spice). It is hilarious with all the craziness of the characters, preposterous situations and insane dialogues, I almost wet myself laughing several times. Action packed with a big battle near the end of the book and some loved up moments too, even if it's not the main focus, and fade to black
My second complaint is the lack of gluing body parts party in the book I always find those really funny.
Free on KU and free audio on catalogue plus Audible too.
Jessica's performance is outstanding, her voice is perfect for Daisy and her interpretation of the many side characters perfection. Obviously, it would have been better to also have a male narrator, but Jessica still kicked backsides on her own.

Bookcover/link: The Billionaire's Fake Engagement (Durand Billionaire Brothers Book 1) by Leslie North
Rating (1-5): 2/5
Review:
Hmm what to say - overall the story was just meh. The characters were not well developed. If I had to choose one character to like it would be the MMC. The FMC was just so obnoxious. Her parents sucked so bad. And then in the end she forgives him at the drop of a hat yet for like 4 chapters she was furious with him. Obviously I’m not an author so I’m sure it’s difficult to build a good story full of depth when you’re trying to keep it at 200 pages but man I’ve noticed these shorter books are harder for me to get into because they’re just lacking in regards to depth. I also clearly am struggling to find the perfect mix of angst and falling in love quickly. Because too much angst I hate but some of these stories where it’s like insta love it’s really hard to get into those too. Ugh. Maybe I just wasn’t feeling this particular story. I would probably give this author another go if another ebook is free or if she’s on KU.
2/5

Review: I am continuing to fall in love with Ali Hazelwood's work. She makes me laugh and swoon just a bit. She also has these women who make you root for them so hard. Women who are very intelligent, but have the same issues that the rest of us have when it comes to relationships, so they are relatable.

Then there are the intelligent, sexy men, who also have their relationship issues too.

In this we have Bee and Levi. The are the opposite of friends, going back to their grad school days, and are now tasked with working on project together at NASA. Things do not get off to a great start.

As usual, there are some misunderstandings, but these are more deep-seated and intricate.

Were parts of the story a bit predictable? Yes. It was pretty clear what the cause of the issues with their work was, but I enjoyed the overall story either way.

📝Review: This was a reread with the audiobook and the narration made a great story even more amazing. First time around I got this book on KU only, as it was recommended in a reading challenge and I loved it. So, this reread I decided to add the audio (1/2 price for subscribers that have the ebook) and it made it all even more amazing. The story starts with drama and it is sweet and addictive with slow burn and delicious tension until it all happen and it becomes very steamy. There is a potty mouthed kid who is hilarious and a bunch a interesting characters in a rural setting.
Amazing performances from both narrators.
