Sarah | 6 comments I'm almost certain this book is titled 'Hackers' but I don't know the author (and have, of course, run lots of searches for books called 'Hackers'!)

I read it as a child in the mid-1990s - think it's likely to be have been published in the 80s or 90s.

I can't remember many plot details but the setting was a sort of futuristic urban dystopia, and the eponymous hackers were able to sort of psychically insert themselves into the internet and travel around.

Any ideas?!

(Definitely not 'Hacker' by Malorie Blackman).

Capn | 3506 comments Hackers? (The novelisation of the movie....)

Hackers? "This wide-ranging collection of cyberspace tales, featuring the most cutting-edge writers in science fiction, goes beyond the stereotypes of computer rogues and delves into the true heart—and art—of hackerdom."

The HACKER? "A small group of computer fanatics finds their fun getting out of hand when a demon known as The Succubus invades their game" (horror)

The Mad Hacker 'An Ashgrove High Mystery'

The Hacker and the Ants "Computer programmer Jerzy Rugby spends his days blissfully hacking away in cyberspace - aiding the GoMotion Corporation in its noble quest to create intelligent robots. Then an electronic ant gets into the machinery ... then more ants .... then millions and millions of the nasty viral pests appear out of nowhere to wreak havoc throughout the Net. And suddenly Jerzy Rugby is Public Enemy Number One, wanted for sabotage, computer crime, and treason - a patsy who must now get to the bottom of the virtual insectile plague."

Hacker? "Overburdened Fort Worth police detective Deb Ralston finds her work load dramatically increased by a brutal ax murderer with a penchant for hacking computers and their users to death." XD Probably not

There's also a CYOA called CyberHacker (I mention only for completeness...!). ;)

Thank you so much for these very detailed suggestions also - just shows how bad my memory is, as after being utterly convinced it was called Hackers, you've kindly linked me to Hex, as above!
