I'm trying to remember the name of a recent novel that is about multiple characters. One of the characters becomes obsessed with acting out in public to get "authentic" reactions from people. He has a brother who becomes a lawyer and another who joins the military. Their mother winds up having a brief affair with their childhood friend. This is a fairly recent novel I think published within the last few years. Any help is so greatly appreciated!

One of the characters becomes obsessed with acting out in public to get "authentic" reactions from people. As a child he made a documentary about the migratory patterns of birds which was painfully boring. He has a brother who becomes a lawyer and another who joins the military. Their mother winds up having a brief affair with their childhood friend. During a family visit this character decides on a whim to take his girlfriend to visit the friend who had the affair with his mother. The once golden boy turned out to be a somewhat sad divorced dad. This is a fairly recent novel I think published within the last few years. Any help is so greatly appreciated!
