Jim Butchers The Aeronauts Windlass is wonderfully narrated. I don’t know that it is categorized as YA but the characters are all young and have some pretty epic adventures. The author has stated that he is returning to the series soon, so I’m hoping more come out in it.
I’ve switched over to audiobooks almost exclusively now, as they help with the time… I can do a lot of stuff while listening, and help with my eyesight and reducing eyestrain. A good narrator can take a book that may not have interested you, and make it a great experience.
Solitaire by Alice Oseman is a free podcast on Spotify but its read like an audiobook and it’s so good
Orson Paragon Society Series by David DelaneyHunter the Hunter series by Mercedes Lackey
Are good fantasy with great narrators
Anything that Julia Whelan narrates is pure perfection! (Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, I think all of Taylor Jenkins Reid book, her own works... she slays.)If you are looking for something short, I recommend Cara Bastone and her Love Lines series. Fully casted, quick listens!
Also, any romance with Jason Clarke, Sebastian York, Chris Brinkley or Andrew Eiden narrating as the male MC is *chefs kiss* 🥵
Do you want spice with a bit of shock value and the best male narrator voice ever? If yes, listen to Priest: A Love Story by Sierra Simone. Best audio book in a while.
