El Madayag | 3 comments From what I remember, it's about a girl who moves into a house which has a girl's ghost haunting it, I vaguely remember some kind of description about the ghost sitting in a rocking chair.

She then somehow transports back in time, to when the girl was alive, and has to help her. The girl is really sick, but since it's the olden days, no one can figure out why. I remember in particular she vomits up blood at one point.

The main character figures out in the end that it was the girl's aunty or some similar sort of figure that had been poisoning her, and so the mc stops the aunty somehow and the girl ends up not dying there.

When the mc goes back into her normal timeline from the start of the back, the girl is no longer haunting the house.

- When I think about the girl (the one that was getting poisoned), I think of the name "Georgia." I'm not sure if that's really the girl's name or if I'm just putting that name onto her in my mind though.

- I also feel like the book has Jackie French vibes. I don't think it's written by her, but I just feel those vibes, you know?

Was the girl a teenager or a younger child?

It would've probably been around 2016, but I'm pretty sure it was a prescribed text for my reading group, so it could be a lot older.

I believe the girl was a teenager, for the events of the story to make sense she couldn't have been any younger than 11

Oh I never even thought of that. Since I'm from Aus and my school was really trying to push the "explore Australian authors" thing lol, it's very possible, I'll go check to see if that helps ^^

bookel | 4025 comments The question does not mean much as like many countries there are books from many others ... but thought you might know since you said it seemed kind of Jackie French-ish but not.

Capn | 3506 comments The Ghosts / The Amazing Mr Blunden keeps popping up in my mind when I see your header. Sara's younger brother is named Georgie. I just don't distinctly remember bloody vomit, though.
