Chapter two posted.Sherene and her companion meet a new friend in the service area, and together the trio start to piece together what's happening.

Chapter fourThe ghouls take shelter in a storage closet. Some backstory is discussed, and the gravity of the situation is revealed.
I have decided this a jukebox musical.Opening credits: Isaac and the ensemble cast perform The Greatest Show as Isaac is getting into makeup, using the song to psych himself up as he gets into character. We never see Isaac's eyes without prosthesis, but the background vocals cut to the named cast doing their performances. The stomping and clapping are the haunt sliders and the soldier drill team. Sherene is introduced during "It's everything you ever want/it's everything you ever need/and it's here right in front of you..."
Some character trivia:When working on Viral Research, I wanted Sally to have physical features that denoted her status as an asymptomatic carrier. This resulted in her having Marfan syndrome, which effects the body's ability to use connective tissue. The zombie virus may just not be able to adequately affect her proteins.
Then, working ln Masquerade, I kept describing Isaac in terms like "lanky" and "spidery," until he started presenting with Marfan features in my head.
That means the noble idiot in every disaster story most likely to run into danger to protect others, the one that's most likely to jump on a grenade heedless of his own peril, has a heart that could come apart at the seams on a GOOD day, and I have him running from literally the worst things humans can imagine.

These three have always been in any version of the story, though not necessarily with the same names or design. Sherene always had catgirl features, Isaac always had tentacle fingers and was always named Isaac.
Осовец originally went by the name "Chernobyl" or "Pripyat," and while always a gas mask creature, was more radiation-focused than poison gas-focused, as the names would imply.
Haunt sliding for Ozzy and steampunkery for Isaac are relatively recent additions.

Haunted houses and thrill rides only work if you entertain the possibility it's all real.
But what if, this time, it is real?
After a long year of wearing masks, a lowly janitor decides to cut loose at attend a Halloween event at the theme park she cleans.
And then things got way too real.
Literally. Props came to life, actors and patrons alike became their costumes.
Now, she and her new friends must learn how to adapt to their new bodies, and survive in the new normal.

A haunt slider who was in character when the transformation occurred, his human personalityis largely overwritten, making him hard to understand. He produces toxic gasses from his mask.
Isaac "I See You" Seymour
An employee of Wonderland, his costume was rhat of a steampunk mechanic, leading to a mechanical expertise that defies the laws of physics. At 6'7, it's hard to tell what's his most imposing feature: his tentacle-like digits, his height, or the fact that he can see without eyes.
