i personally didn't really enjoy the fault in our stars and i dnf more then a half way through-
my dark vanessa, the way i used to be, if he had been with me, it ends with us etc are the books that i would recommend, but i would search up TW before reading any of these

The kite runner made my heart throb really bad and it was too sad. I would suggest you check out the tws before reading it tho.
