Liz (liz_the_librarian) Splintered (Splintered, #1) by A.G. Howard - Finished over the weekend. Not really a fan, which was disappointing considering how many people recommended this book to me.

I Hate Everyone... Starting with Me by Joan Rivers - Just started this one, and Joan Rivers is hilarious, as always.

Hounded (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne - A sexy redheaded "21-year-old" Irish dude? Yes, please!

Chris Francis (snowtiger64) | 45 comments I just finished "The Raven Boys" audiobook yesterday and really enjoyed it. It was endearing to hear Will Patton do all the voices especially the little old psychic. I'm also continuing the John Carter series in book 4. I'll be starting "The Perfect Storm" audiobook this week too.

Julie | 130 comments I decided to go from The Maze Runner into the Scorch Trials audio book. I'm just over a quarter of the way through it and it still has me interested. I like the narrator too, that's always a plus.

I need to pick up the pace though, I'm a little behind on the year so far.

Chris Francis (snowtiger64) | 45 comments You can do it Julie!

message 5: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Hurst (bookrdr) | 285 comments I am finally finishing Outlander, which I started during the 2014 challenge. I had to turn it back in & kept forgetting to grab it again. One more disk on Private London , by James Patterson, CD.
I really got into The Perfect Storm when I read it Chris. It was 16 years ago, but I still remember so much of it. If you like that one, I'll dig up the title of the book on the wooden sailing ship that went down of our East Coast during the hurricane.

Liz (liz_the_librarian) Julie, I second what Chris said, "You can do it!" Do you have kids who you read to or anything like that? You could probably count some of those books.

Ingrid, Outlander is soooo long. I listened to it last year, and it took me a good month to get through it, and I drive about an hour, one way, to work each day. But it was worth it. I loved the narrator, even if the book didn't end up being a favorite.

message 7: by Ann (new)

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments I had to turn in The Fellowship of the Ring about 5 discs in (it had a hold on it). I'm now listening to Guilty Pleasures (I was at Central yesterday and grabbed it on my way out).
I'm not reading much at the moment, but I picked up some nonfiction ebooks on sale: The Joy of X (about math), Eleanor Roosevelt's Autobiography, and Dresden (about the destruction of that city during WWII, written by a man who had been held prisoner there during the worst of the bombing).
That said, I'll probably go on another mystery kick.

Chris Francis (snowtiger64) | 45 comments I have picked up several book bundles (both e-text and audio) from humblebundle.com and storybundle.com. They have been great for me because they have introduced me to so many new authors and types of books I may have never picked up to read. The best part of it has been that many of the books are the first books in a series, which I can than continue reading through the library. They change every couple of weeks, so if you are stuck in a rut, it's a great way to get into some new authors without even having a cover to judge.

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments Thanks, Chris, for the suggestions, I'll give them a try. I'm always interested in trying new authors.

message 10: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (librariansmiles) | 5 comments I'm reading "The Book of Strange New Things" by Michel Faber. I'd started it on audio but the narrator had a deep voice that made my stock speakers rattle, even with the bass turned down! Anyway, I'm loving it in print.

message 11: by Vivian (new)

Vivian | 54 comments I finished "Funhouse: by Dean Koontz an old book written under a pseudonym . Not up to his later books but still worth reading.

Also finished "Plum Lovin" by Janet Evanovich.

Going to read a couple of gardening books this week to start planning my garden.

Happy reading everyone!

Chris Francis (snowtiger64) | 45 comments Ingrid, I really enjoyed the Perfect Storm. Who knew non-fiction could be so exciting!

message 13: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Hurst (bookrdr) | 285 comments Chris, the other book that was really good was Rescue of the Bounty. It's at the library. That one was interesting since it happened right around here. Nonfiction isn't usually my genre, but I found that one fascinating. Glad you liked The perfect storm! Let me know if you read anything else good.
