Week # 10 - Option 1

Book: Don't Call Me Cupcake
Author: Tara Sheets
Pages: 277
Date Read: 6-5-23
Rating: 2 Stars
How it qualifies - #1 on the Favourite Romances with pets list
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/9...

Review:

I was hoping to like this book more than I did but it was just okay. It was a pretty quick read. Emma just acted a little flat for me sometimes and Hunter got on my nerves. There was supposed to be an air of magic to the storyline but I felt that could've been played up a little more. Emma's ex was irritating and the end was a bit rushed in my opinion. Overall, I would like to know what happened to the other characters but I hope the storylines are a little better.

MountainKat | 32111 comments We have about 24 hours left before the last theme call! Hopefully you will have your completions posted by then and are ready to start reading for whatever theme is called.

MountainKat | 32111 comments From Jane:

I'm going to call the final task for this round of Pass The Parcel at 4pm US EST or just after. That is 6am for me ;)

For this last week, players who wish to use Option 2 will need to pick from a team that I post with the final task. That is, if you select option 2 it cannot come from your own teammates' shelves, but from a different team's players' shelves that I will specify in the final task call.

Option 3 (Pass) is not available in the last week.

All posts from prior weeks must be completed to be in the running to win. (No outstanding completions from prior weeks.) AND all your selection and completion posts must include all the necessary information required in msg 3 of each team's thread. I will not be letting you know if you have missed an element or the page numbers don't match the edition that you have posted, etc.

Once you think your team has won, someone needs to post IN THIS THREAD (the Q&A thread), that they have completed the task.
I will then check the posts to ensure they are correct. If they are not (and require correction) another team can nip in and claim the win if their posts are correct.

Review: This one is so cute. I love atypical shifters, and it really worked here alongside the best friend brother's trope. Just a sweet short story.

Well third time through and I didn't remember this story! (Do you think I should be worried about that?) All that I remembered was that Eve had gone off planet to Roarke's resort and someone was murdered... This was a good good story, especially for an 'in between' novella. A police conference was a good way to include ALL of the characters too. Yes, I was surprised by the killer - again... And as always Susan Ericksen's narration was fabulous.

No worries. I hope you had a fun vacation!

Mine is winding down and I'm looking forward to heading home, but first I get to spend the weekend with my youngest and his family! Since they moved across the country, we don't get to see them nearly enough!!

It was great! My parents rent a couple cabins on a lake every summer and the whole family goes out. The only issue was that it was a little colder so wasn't able to get in the water!

Glad you're having a great time!

MountainKat | 32111 comments Yeah, I was surprised how cool the weather was while we were in Tennessee and Maryland. I did not pack the right clothes! Now that we are down in south Georgia, the temps have definitely gone up! 🥵

bamaace83 | 1293 comments Random question because I can't remember. I finished a book after this theme was called that would work but I started it yesterday for something else. Would it work since I finished it after the theme was called? I picked a new book but I was just wondering.

No, you have to start the book after the theme is called.

bamaace83 | 1293 comments Thanks! That's what I thought so I will have it read tonight and try to get back to post it and if I don't, I'm going to cross fingers that another team doesn't finish before 5 am in the morning.

I may go find a quick 100 pager to knock out quicker.

Hey Anna - the edition you linked to has a different page count than you have listed. Could you please change the page count to 224 - that is easier than changing the edition. Thanks.

MountainKat | 32111 comments I just double checked our posts - I forgot to add Completion Post to mine. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But if someone else wants to check too, that would be great!

Apparently we are heading out in the morning for a hike, so I might not be online until later. Remember if we get all of our posts done, we need to post in the Q&A thread - even if another team has posted! It isn't over until Jane says it's over. 😉
