I have a zillion questions

I am reading the echo book and there is so much to remember that I got questions for all. I want to make sure what I read is correct.

Here are the top questions
Did Ian kill a general when Jamie gave Claire a buffalo blank

Why did a man come to see Jamie same chapter?

When Jamie goes to get a printer with Claire from a shop does the man who own the shop own that printer? Confused I thought the print shop burned

I'm going to answer the just the last question because that's the only one I remember. (it's been a while since i read the book.) The printing press belongs to Jaime. He was able to pull it out of the fire before his print shop burned down and he asked Andrew Bell to keep it for him. Since Andrew is also a printer, he was using Jamie's printing press for his work until Jamie came to collect it.
