Real Life Situation-how would you react?

I need your help with a little experiment. I'm currently working on the next two sequels to THE MAGIC WAKES and I'd like to know how you would react to the following situation. Please read it, put yourself in the world and react naturally!
Your planet was invaded by a dragon/human hybrid determined to kill most of you and enslave the rest. They wiped out the military in ten minutes and you thought all was lost. Then a group of people gathered together and performed a spell that destroyed the Dragumon. These were people who had lived in your communities, taught your children, worked beside you, and yet you never knew they had a secret. They can work magic. Together they were powerful enough to wipe out an alien race without losing a single mage.
Now they are living among you again. What do you think? What do you want to know? Are you excited, afraid? Why?
