The art of differing P.O.V.s

I'm wondering, what kind of P.O.V. do people prefer to read from, third person, first person, or going back and forth between two or more points of view? And if going back and forth between two p.o.v.s, does it bother you if the viewpoints' descriptions of the story overlap, or do you prefer and enjoy seeing the same scene from two different points of view?

I prefer first person or alternating P.O.V.s. Honestly, I don't really care as long as the words come from a character's mind. As for the story overlap, I like some overlap but if the same chapter is retold in multiple POVs with all of the same events, I tend to get bored.

I think what POV works the best all depends on the story. Personally I like first person. I like being in the character's head, but I think there are some stories that work better in third.

I prefer third person, past tense above all else. I feel like the third person POV gives me a better sense of my surroundings.
i'm on the fence with this one - and it's a really good question to ask. i tend ot prefer reading a story that's from one person's point of view because you're getting the consistency there. the challenge though is that you only see things from one person and there's often more to the story. the times that we get stories that alternate from chapter to chapter are at times good but at times confusing since i've been known to get so sucked into a story that i don't necessarily realize right off the bat when it's changed from one person to the other and then i get really confused.
what i really enjoyed though is that there was a book written in the female lead's POV and then another book that mirrored the story that came out later entirely from the male lead's POV. that was great since you didn't get a sense that you're detracting from the story at all, but you get to see both sides.

Those are a lot of great points, I've heard of some writers releasing another book based on another individual's point of view. And I agree that when
