Ah, Harry! Not a cold case this time, but a complex current one for Bosch. In The Overlook, by veteran best-selling author Michael Connelly, what looks like a 'standard' murder, turns out to have deadly, and potentially very widespread, ramifications.
My review of The Overlook
I read Paris Undercover: A Wartime Story of Courage, Friendship, and Betrayal by Matthew Goodman It is a biography of two women who did extraordinary things in WWII. I recommend it. My 4 star review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Aussie writer Adrian Hyland's outback and remote rural mysteries feature female protagonists who are unruly in the best sense of the word - they have to be. Jesse Redpath is great in The Wiregrass, and my only complaint is that Hyland doesn't write faster.
My review of The Wiregrass
If they've found The Wrong Hands, then whose are they? This is Mark Billingham's Detective Miller #2, but it could easily be a standalone. He is an experienced author who leads us gently through back stories without making me feel guilty for not remembering who's who. 😊)
My review of The Wrong Hands
Now starting THE PROFESSIONALS by Owen Laukkanen, the first novel in his five-book series featuring FBI agent Carla Windermere and Minnesota state investigator Kirk Stevens, set in modern day Minnesota.
Just finished

Neil Gaiman has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons (for him, that is), and Goodreads disallowed posting of this review for a couple of weeks. Presumably the trolling (or whatever) has died down, because I was able to post it today.
Coraline is a bright, inquisitive young girl living in a house that has another magical half with what appears to be another family - hers?! Spooky story for kids and an enjoyable read for adults. My review of "Coraline" is here:

Liz Moore's The God of the Woods kept me so absorbed that I hope she follows on with a couple of characters.
