Chapter 8-19 (view spoiler)[ mare gets the freedom she wants for her brothers only to find out when she goes back home with cal in a move orchestrated by Maven that shade is dead.it makes me wonder what is happening,changing that the red bloods are gaining powers,powers it seems home of the silvers holds.i hate how they treat the reds like scum and think it's fine if they die but not the silvers.i had a feeling that cal loved mare and was glad to see that's the case despite the fact that cal is engaged to Evangeline and Maven to mare.cant wait to see what's next and can't believe that the scarlet guard will attack at the parting ball and something seems fishy about Maven getting involved in the scarlet guard (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[ i am starting to hate evangeline all the more with how arrogant she is and nasty.i was starting to like maven,thinking he was better than cal but i never saw how far his betrayal could go.even more hateful is elara,she killed,corianne,cals mother just so she could be queen and harmed others so her secret would be saved,and had cal kill the king so maven could be ruler making sure cals beheading of his father is captured on camera.it comes as a shock that there are many reds with abilities and that shade is alive and has the ability to teleport,cant wait to read the rest of the books (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5 (view spoiler)[ The dude Mare met was totally a prince 😂😂😂 Also, Mare needs to not blame herself for Gisa’s actions. Mare didn’t make Gisa do anything. Gisa wanted to help and she got caught, which was sad and I hate what the punishment was. Mare blaming herself doesn’t do any good. I hope she’ll find a different way to help Kilorn. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 11 (view spoiler)[ Haha it was Cal, of course it was Cal. Honestly, the Silvers should’ve just killed Mare after she fell into Queen’s trial. It would’ve saved them quite a lot of trouble. But I’m glad they didn’t. I’m excited to see more of Mare’s lightning power. Being betrothed to Maven was an interesting twist and I’m not sure why they’re “rewarding” her with him. Maybe it’s to keep a closer eye on Mare? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17 (view spoiler)[I love Julian already, he’s so fascinating. I hope Mare and him can become true friends even with all the Silver/Red animosity. I’m kinda starting to ship Mare and Cal after her visit to her family as well. There’s something about Cal that I like. I’m so ready for Mare to be part of the scarlet guard. ALSO THAT FUCKING DUEL WITH EVANGELINE WAS EVERYTHING. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 23 (view spoiler)[ Okay wow, Maven joined the guard. I’m not sure how I feel about that and how he’s trying to form a rift between Mare and Cal. #TeamCAL forever dammit. Also the whole shooting at the ball and subsequent arrest, torture and rescue was crazy and horrible and thrilling. I can’t wait to see how this ends. (hide spoiler)]

Ugh I hope she and Cal manage to get out of there. I like the operation the Guard has at Tuck, it's pretty neat. And this isn't just a Norta thing, clearly the guard is in other territories. Ch. 13 (view spoiler)[ So glad Kilorn didn't really betray Mare. I also love Farley and I can't wait to see these guys rescue some new bloods!! Oh man fucking Krantz sold them out!! At least Mare was quick enough to prevent complete capture so far. I hope they'll make it out of there. And they have another new blood, Nyx! I'm so excited to see more new bloods. Cameron's rescue of Maury and his platoon was pretty amazing, but now they have to deal with Maven's brainwashing yikes. The fight at the wedding was fucking awesome and I'm glad Sampson is dead. Ch. 23 (view spoiler)[ I loved Evangeline's perspective! Also things are getting interesting with the communication between the Scarlet Guard and the Silvers that have left Maven. I'm not sure Anabel Lerolan can be trusted. But damn I want Evangeline to find a way to be happy. I wish she could have her own piece of Norta and rule with Elane by her side. That would be a vision.
