I kinda expected it. i read the description in the goodreed book page. and then (view spoiler)[ she turned on the electricity the previous night (hide spoiler)]. but what i did not expect was (view spoiler)[the kings reaction. making her a Lady and a princess. i mean WHAT?!!??

I like Maven too. It would be nice if they fall for each other. Somehow, I like Maven more for Mare than Cal. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished chapter 16! Oh my. (view spoiler)[ I thought I liked Cal. But as the book goes on... He's dark. I loooove this line and it sums up everything I think of him at this point... "Cal's blood might be silver, but his heart is black as burned skin". And of course, Maven is growing on me. He seems like a sweet innocent boy, but I'm truly excited to see what's underneath the clothes... He's probably a genius and will save everyone some way or another?! Haha.

I'm also very skeptic about the Guard. I think that there is something we don't know, that Mare and Maven don't know either that will make them regret joining. I think Farley is very thirsty for power... I guess we will have to wait and see!!! (hide spoiler)]

Up to chapter 8. Sorry I'm starting late, hope I can still discuss with you guys.
So far the book seems a little clichéd/ predictable to me and reminds me of some others I have read (Hunger Games to some degree and a little like Throne of Glass), but I'm also really enjoying the Silvers' different powers. I think I'd want to be a telky (never have to get up to get the remote again ;) or maybe a whisper. Unless the nymphs can breath under water, then I'd definitely want to be one of those. What about you guys?

So I'm up to chapter 11 and am predicting that (view spoiler)[the Queen is going to try and kill Cal so that Maven can get the throne. It seems in line with the Queen's character. Thinking about it more, I'd actually probably want to be a healer. It's not nearly as cool or flashy a power, but to me it's the one with the most serious real life applications- being able to save your loved ones and others from things like cancer and other serious health problems would be wonderful.
