Chapter 10: Its really crazy how different the feel of this book is from Book 1. I am actually starting to remember the storyline in this book where as the first book I had completely forgotten. Chapter 21: (view spoiler)[ Im not going to lie, this book is way more depressing than the last. Not to mention the fact that it seems so slow plot progression wise. Even though we are collecting all our new bloods, Mare herself is a real downer. Being inside her head is almost painful at times. We just found the seer. I know now that things are going to pick up, been waiting on him this whole book lol. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I totally agree, as of yet the feel of the book is so different; but, at the same time it is just a continuation of the previous book. And idk, but I'm kind of enjoying that this book doesn't feel like a repetition of the first one, something that I feel often happens in series. (hide spoiler)]

Yea and this book didn't feel like a "placeholder" type either, that often happens in series as well, where nothing really happens its just nonsense to get you to the next book.

(view spoiler)[ I am really loving the book thus far. I like that Mare isn't all bright and happy and we can clearly see the effects of the things that has happened to her and her development. Even with things as simple as trusting people, she was much more willing to do it in the beginning of the book, and now she trusts no one. I'm also worried about what Cameron might do, she doesn't seem like the most reliable person. Although, she did make some valid points. (hide spoiler)]

I think I like Mare, I am still getting to know her. I really like how much she cares about her friend, immediately trying to get him smuggled out of the city to make sure he doesn't have to got war. I don't really like she includes her sister in her plan, getting her into danger. Her sister actually was doing so well in live, providing for her family. Because her sister wanted to help her, she got shot in her sowing hand. That is so incredibly sad.
