A magnetron can manipulate metal like a nymph can with water, a telky can only lift it. Still, I kind of wish there was a glossary at the back that explained all the abilities, and maybe the Houses. That would have been perfect for the novella!

Ah, that does make sense then. I agree that there should have been a glossary or something. It didn't take long to catch on with names like strongarms or nymphs, but it doesn't say right away what their limitations are.
I just feel like as magnetrons can only manipulate metal, that telkys are better off as they'd be able to move metal too. Just not change its' shape.
Yeah I'd rather be a telky. Then the next time I'm reading, I don't have to get up to grab a blanket or the coffee I forgot on the table, they'll just float towards me! But I got strongarm on the quiz >.<
I got to 65% a couple years ago and gave up. I don't know why. Probably it was due at the library or something because I don't know why I would have quit reading it. This is my first time finishing though.
I know right XD I loved re-reading the initial one and seeing how it all came about because I couldn't remember.
I'm excited to read the rest of the series now. I'm glad I went ahead and checked out all four at once.
Wow crazy it was available! All new books like that have sometimes a hundred holds on one copy before they even have the copy in the system.
Which one did you just finish, Ashley? Wanted to make sure before I read the spoilers =]And after you read War Storm, I think you'll think differently of greenwardens.
Maddison Ya isn't super popular at my library so I get them fairly quickly. The longest wait I've ever had was three people ahead of me.Gabi I just finished Red Queen. My spoilers should be safe 😊
Oh wow nice Ashley, lucky you! I've taken to buying majority of my books now though, it's so bad :/
Maddison wrote: "Oh wow nice Ashley, lucky you! I've taken to buying majority of my books now though, it's so bad :/"Well, yes and no. There is rarely a waitlist for YA books because they don't get checked out as much. But then, they don't buy as many YA books for the same reason. But what I do have, I get first. lol
I can, but they set a certain budget for YA. Luckily I worked there for six years so they usually take my suggestions, but they can't get all of them. They usually choose the ones that are best sellers, which makes sense. Our library is part of an inter-library loan program though. We can get books from other libraries as long as they are over a year old.
Ah yeah, but still a year's insane! My city's libraries are all linked straight away.
And 6 years is a long time to work in a library. I worked one shift a week in mine for a year.

I left there and started working in a high school library. It's perfect. I get weekends and summers off.
Glass Sword gets really good halfway through! I thought the beginning was a bit slow, but I think all the books in the series have slows starts. The endings usually make up for it.That's so cool y'all worked at a library (I love those places <3). I was hoping to get the volunteer position at my local library for the summer! Any tips?

That's how I started. I volunteered for 9 months before I was hired. It kind of depends on your skills. Do you like computers? Or do you like to be moving around?

I'm going to miss it after next year. I'm graduating from college and will have to get a grown up job. lol At my current one, I get to read a lot. That way I can help the students find book they'll like.

Moving around! :) Although if I had to work with computers, I'm sure I could figure it out. I'm just not as quick with technology as, say, my brother, who loves coding.
Ask them if you can start shelving. That's what a lot of part time employees and volunteers start with. Or ask if you can start a bibliography or something for readers. Something like, If you like...you'll like... It's little things like that that most employees don't have time for but can be helpful

Something like, If you like...."Shelving was the position offered! And I see what you mean. Some things I enjoy might be useful. I like writing, events, and talking to people, and I can see how that might help out!
And congratulations on graduating soon!!! I'm sorry you'll have to leave your library though, especially after six years.
Shelving is great as long as you don't mind it being monotonous. It usually leads to clerical work though. You could offer to host a book talk/club as a volunteer.
Yeah I did shelving at my library, it got really boring. But it was super easy XD
I just got a few draft letters written out to potential employers surrounding possible graduate jobs I could get. Or maybe temp work. I cannot wait to graduate.

Yeah haha that's the reason most people dislike Glass Sword, the fact that it's mostly just traveling.
