Finished! (view spoiler)[ Ahhh!!! I really enjoyed this one. Especially Maven and Mare's conversations and interactions. I think we can all agree at this point that Maven is sooo far gone. I do feel bad for what happened with him and what his mom did to him. He's definitely broken and I don't see him coming back. I liked his interactions with Mare because I felt like we learned so much about Maven and Mare through their interactions. Despite her denial, it does seem like they're more alike than they would care to admit. The ending was like a slap in the face. I'm scared about the next book. I liked where Cal's development went in the second and third book but I'm afraid that this development towards the end will regress him back to where he was in the first book. (hide spoiler)]

Glass Sword Review: Mare really reeeeeally knows how to annoy me! This is just a typical YA book with a typical YA heroine, but I really enjoyed it despite those. This really reminded me of The Young Elites. The differences were hardly decipherable. I like the whole newblood scene going on, but the (view spoiler)[planned attacks and the recruiting are really similar to The Young Elites. (hide spoiler)] I like the way we met a whole heap of new characters, but Mare just really bugged me. (view spoiler)[I like the way Cameron and Cal both stood up to her, the way they said she was just really selfish, and that she was basically overtaking the world with her newbloods, becoming the new Silver army. (hide spoiler)] And it's so true. I don't get why (view spoiler)[Kilorn started talking to her again, but it's cool that he did. (hide spoiler)] One thing that I really didn't get was how (view spoiler)[Mare killed Elara all by herself. I thought they would've all banded together to do it, but nope, of course Mare's strong enough to do it by herself. (hide spoiler)] She's so frustrating. The start of the book was a little slow, but near the middle it sped up, which was nice. There was also a whole lot of betrayal in this book.
