Starting:
I found this a little hard to begin, but once I got into it I was really enjoying it. I think the whole way this world is set up is really interesting. It kind of reminds me of the Throne of Glass series in a way. Anyway looking forward to reading more

(view spoiler)[Oh man I though when the king was telling Mare that she was going to marry one of the prince's, it was going to be Cal for sure. So that was a mini twist I wasn't expecting. I really wanted Mare and Cal to be together, I mean he saved her from conscription. But I agree with you, I want Maven to have a happy ending. I feel like Maven and Mare are going to be like best friends and then Cal is going to be her love intrest. So far I am really enjoring Red Queen though! (hide spoiler)]

Yes same with me! (view spoiler)[In a way it also kind of reminds me of the movies X-Men, with the powers and everything. One X-Men movie in particular (I forget what the specific name is), but it's where the humans try to get rid of anybody with any type of ability, just like the Silvers are trying to get rid of the Reds in this books. So I think it is kind of like X-Men haha. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[So in the beginning Cal was the good guy and I was totally rooting for him and Mare. But now he is kind of just not likable. That's just my opinion. I mean I understand why he has to do what he does, I mean he is the future king and he has to look out for his people (the silvers) and what they want, but still it pisses me off. Also I still like Maven but I have a weird feeling about him and OH MY GOSH when he was the one who stepped out of the shadows and joined the Scarlet Guard, I was so surprised, I totally was expecting it to be Cal. Also I really like Julian and I want to know what happened to his sister (the previous Queen), why was she murdered? Do we find out? Also what about the healer that Julian loves? I forget her name, but what lies did she tell? I kind of want Victoria Aveyard to write another book explaining all this... (hide spoiler)]

if you love X-Men then I recommend Shatter Me series. It's one of my favorites

Oh that is a good series. I only read the first book though. I really enjoyed it, but I got distracted with other books. I plan to retread Shatter Me and then finish the rest of the series this summer :)
