The eight stages of Genocide are
1. Classification
2. Symbolization
3. Dehumanization
4. Organization
5. Polarization
6. Preparation
7. Extermination
8. Denial

1. Classification
This happened in Rwanda with the Death Certificates, or ID cards. They distinguished the Hutu to the Tutsi and moderate Hutu.

2. Classification
The physical differences of the two groups set them apart. The Tutsi were taller and lighter skinned, The Hutu were shorter and had a darker skin tone.

3. Dehumanization
The Tutsi were treated as vermin. As before hand they had a revolution against each other.

4. Organization
The Rwanda Genocide was well organized. There was months if planning so the Genocide was perfectly executed. First the plane crash and the killings of the political leaders. All so the Tutsi couldn't fight back.

5. Polarization
This Genocide was polarized with media and blame. Some of the Hutu groups got ahold of media and spread the word of what they were doing. With the plane crashed they effectively blamed it on the Tutsi.

6. Preparation
The Rwandan Genocide had a bog part in preparation. There political leaders were killed, hope was taken. The Tutsi and Hutu were separated, earlier with ID cards.

7. Extermination
The Tutsi and moderate Hutu were hunted and killed brutally. Along with those with disabilities who sometimes couldn't pretect themselves. Those who killed them didn't seem to think that the Tutsi were humans anymore.

8. Denial
Denial was everywhere. The UN denied the fact that a Genocide was happening. The USA denied the fact that it was a Genocide so that they didn't have to intervene. Once the Hutu were overtaken they ran, trying to deny that they did anything.
