Mack takes Gretchen, the woman he’s dated for the last three months, out for a special dinner where he plans to commit to her by offering to be exclusive. Instead, she dumps him because she felt she only knew him superficially. Had you sensed that in him before this moment? What did you think of her response to him when he acknowledged he read romance novels (she thought that explained her sense of him)?

I thought that Mack picks the wrong women for him. He likes spending too much money as a way of showing affection. The women, especially Gretchen aren't impressed.

[Jonetta]

This was the first time we got to see Mack one on one with a woman he was involved with. He came across too flashy and that would work with a woman who was mostly interested in his wallet. Gretchen wasn’t that woman.

Her reaction to his reading romance novels was also interesting. She thought he came across too perfect and it made me think about the heroes in the books I like. They’re far from perfect.
