oromis and glaedr where only part of the force, the elves are still the best combat race in the land. riders dont count as a race, and there are like 3 dragons, so theyre not so good at the mo either

No, Oromis is with the people of Ellesmera, fighting to conquer Gilead (which they did, but how, I don't know. While Eragon is with the Varden.

as i said earlier, oromis and glaedr were used as a distraction at gilead,murtagh came and g;aedr injurerd thprn very badly, so we assume that thorn couldnt fight on

maybe murtagh didnt have lots of eldunari,
murtagh and thorn were too badly injured to take on the best fighters and most magikal warriors in the land

oromis and glaedr were flying over the elves. It says glaedr tried to fly down to them before oromis died so they could help him, but he didn't make it in time because they were too high up

what? Eragon, his bodyguards, and Arya were fighting with the Varden, and while they were trying to kill the Shade, Eragon sees with Glaedr's eldunari that he and oromis (who are with the rest of the elves who are fighting elsewhere) are fighting murtagh and thorn

I think that Murtagh and Thorn were so weakened after fighting Oromis and Glaedr that once they won, they left. And the elves had pretty much already won when Murtagh came to fight, so Murtagh wouldn't have had any soldiers to help him take back Gilead. I don't remember really, and I don't have my book with me.

no the elves where attacking Gilead. and the Varden where attackign some other place but i don't remember it saying the elves won.

as thorn was running away galbatorix took control of murtagh and turned to face oromis and glaedr who were chasing after them to kill them so eragon wouldn't have to and then they were killed away from the elven army

okok, elves might be snobby, but they are faster, stronger, harder, better t killing stuff, have a giant tree thats actually a reAL ELF

Anyhow, Mybe the elves are still very powerful. I've read that Queen Islansardi herself has a bloodied sword in hand when he spoke to Eragon. (means she is in the frontlines herself)

We all know Queens are pretty powerful.

yup he was and the elves didn't have the ents though. The ents where their own beings. And they where so much cooler than the minoa tree. Elrond is souch cooler than Islansardi though. Legalos is awsome too.

Legolas is soooo cool! But I don't like Elrond...Did you know I'm going to live in Rivendell when I grow up?

Anyway, I think the elves are ok. They look down too much on humans and think the swarves are comical. (LOTR has the best dwarves too). They only respect the dragons. Actually, they WORSHIP dragons pretty much. They've done some good things thuogh, and have good intentions. Overall, they're a pretty "good" race.

Um, how? Rivendell isn't real. Yeah, I think all elves to it but in Eragon they do it to the point where it's just plain annoying and unnecassry. But in LOTR it's the Dwarves they look down on. But the dwarves keep up in the area and so it's funny at times.
