should i read shadow and bone or can i start with six of crows??

i’ve heard so many mixed reviews about the shadow and bone trilogy and i have the six of crows and crooked kingdom and im excited to read it but should i read shadow of bone first?? or it is okay to skip?

It’s totally fine to skip the Shadow and Bone Trilogy before reading Six of Crows. SoC still does a good job of explaining the world and everything but reading Shadow and Bone first will definitely enhance your reading experience. I read SaB first and it was such a nice feeling coming back to this world again and already knowing the overall conflicts and politics. Especially the second book has more „overlaps“ with the SaB books like characters and intrigue.
So if you’re really not motivated to pick up SaB it’s completely fine but if you really want to have the full experience read SaB first. Hope this helps <3
