I read this when I was younger 2010-2015 maybe? The cover was blue with a broken snowglobe.

There's a specific part in the book where these girls are singing Mrs. Mary Mack. Families are only supposed to have two kids, but this family has three. There's something about "leaflets" and a rebellion and her parents are a part of this. Kids are beat with rulers in school if they don't do well, a lot like The Giver, but not quite. Girl wants to learn about the world but can't.

Written early 2000's maybe late 1990's.

The main character may have also been male, but it is not Among the Hidden, unless one of the covers has a snowglobe
