Sharon (fiona64) Yep. If it's an author's note, I might save it until the end; in one of my favorite genres to read and write (historical fiction), that's often where deviations to the known timeline and such are explained.

Rachael | 123 comments Yes, especially if the book I'm reading was written before the year 2000. For older books it helps to provide some context behind the cultural and societal views in that time period.
