Anything on the Juvenile Mazes and Labyrinths list sound familiar to you? :)
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
If you had to guess, do you think it was published in the 90s or 00s? Or could it be earlier (80s, for example)?
Was it illustrated / a picture book? Or a chapter book? (Or both?) :)

I will be checking the list and will update if I find it but I am afraid it may not be in it as even though I have a strong memory about the laberynth I believe it could also not be that important.
I am not really sure about its publication but if I'd have to bet I would do it to the 90s. It felt a bit old for me being ~12/13 at the time so propably it was but not that much. Maybe older but definitely not the 00s. I have done a bit of backtracking and I read it in the 2006 or 2007 summer.
I was an advanced reader for my age then so it was a young adult novel, no pictures and not a chapter book i believe. I also remember that the cover of the edition I read was white but being a Spanish edition that might not be really helpful.

I have gone through a stack of possibilities, which may give you a head start on things you can rule out. Thread can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I have to say that I am not sure that the words 'laberynth' or 'maze' were on the title. Also that the events in the story happen in a past time. It is not something futuristic.
It is a remote guess but I am more inclined to think that the title had the words 'empress' or 'princess' than 'laberynth'. But again this is a guess so it may not be the case.
Again thank you. I'll keep searching too!
I remeber very vague things about it but also some very specific details. I'll try to be as helpful as I can.
The vague plot: A boy has the mission to find a girl who is the princess or empress of (I believe) China. I remember she was considered almost a God. And he had to cross a laberynth full with dangers and challenges in his quest. People has tried for a long time to do it without success but (spoiler) he will. I also remember that the tone of the book was kind of sad or dramatic with a kind of good/relieving ending.
Probably some of this details are not totally true or misremembered by me somehow.
Some specific details: I remember the description of the laberynth as having white high walls and that one of the challenges was that the walls moved during the night. Disorienting most of the people who went inside and making it virtually impossible to get out. Also, I remember a very specific description as either the girl travels in a carriage or is laying in the grass and she describes how she could felt the movement of the Earth as a planet.
It was already an old book for me when I read it and I believe it may have probably been out of print already. Also I believe it is important to mention that I am Spanish, that English is not my first language and that I read the book in Spanish. Thank you very much and I feel happy that this kind of communities exists to help everyone. I'll try to udpdate this post if I remember anything else.
