The key theme of this book was to have compassion and empathy for others and to treat people equally. As we can not control our appearance, we should not discriminate against others because of this. I think this sends an extremely powerful message to children about acceptance.
I believe this book is more suitable for students in upper key stage two as it contains strong themes such as bullying and it would be more impactful for maturer students
