Where is Stephen?

I’m devastated that Stephen, Amand Gamach’s Godfather did not get a mention. He was living with the Gamach’s so where did he go? I kept expecting at some time during the book it would be explained but never was. It therefore distracted me during the read. I loved the book, I can not wait for the 19th book but I need to know where Stephen is. Please.

Hi Karen, loved the book, too; however, I didn't miss Stephen. Seemed to me he was a secondary character. Kinda expect those to get dropped. Maybe Ms. Penny would like to hear you missed him because I heard this was the last Gamach. If that is true, isn't that sad?

Oh no I hope it's not the last book. I've loved reading the books about Amand and his family and of course the mysteries that he solves in his careful and analytical way. I knew Stephen was a secondary character but because he was living with the Gamachs at that stage I thought the story line would touch on his character, even just to give his character an out. 'Stephen it was lovely having you here, we will miss you now that you are returning home'....or something like that. I'm certainly no writer but I do like stories to tie up nice and neat.
