The Nightingale is my first Kristin Hannah book. I'm not too far into it, but so far it is excellent.
Nita; I buy all my books in print and from Barnes and Noble; I'm just waiting for it to come down a little I price.
"The Nightingale" was my first Kristin Hannah book. I loved this book! I normally avoid subjects about the Nazi's due to the atrocities they committed, but the story line was so outstanding, and well written, I could not put it down! I gave it five (5) stars because it deserved it, and I rarely give any book five stars. I loved the way the story was not mired in unnecessary details, yet it was full of information that actually set the mood, rather than detract from the telling of the story. I will be reading more of Ms. Hannah's books in the future.
The Nightingale was my first book, and not my last. The Nightingale is right up there with all my favorite books about WW2. They are so emotional and if well written, hard to forget. She did it well here. I picked up a used copy of Firefly Lane and I also want to read Winter Garden.
Hi Colleen, You will really enjoy those books. I have read them and now I just look for her name knowing that it will be a great book.
Winter Garden was my first KH read. I loved it! The Nightingale super cedes, but both are well layered, and based on truth.
The Nightingale was the first book of Ms. Hannah's that I've read and I enjoyed every moment of it. It definitely was a page turner and I enjoyed the little twist in the near the end. The story was so well constructed and poignant, as well as informative. I intend on reading the rest of her books.
Loved this book The Nightingale. It was the highlight of my year's readings.A fan of Ms. Hannah. I have read several others by her. Winter Garden would be a great follow-up for anyone wishing to read more of her books.

My first Kristin Hannah book was Firefly Lane. I was on vacation with my family and it was at the beach house we rented. I hadn't finished it in the week we were there and bought a copy on the way home. I've been hooked on ever since!
I believe I've read all of Kristin Hannah's books, first was sent by my darling friend Julie on Bainbridge Island which was dedicated to Julie's kids, Win and Whitney. I've very much liked all of them, but The Nightingale is my favorite. It's an amazing story, backed with extensive research. A perfect read. Rosie, in Sugar Hill, GA

The book the chance looks real exciting and good looking characters. I wish I can see the movie as well but I'll wait for it to come out on tv.
I started with
. I stopped reading it when the heroine woke up in the hospital, thinking my husband would like it too. We read aloud together. Anyway, I put it aside and picked up
and read about half way through it and realized my husband would really like this one too. I put it aside for a few days when my need to know what happened got the best of me, and I finished it. Read it a second time with my husband. Have since read
and
. For some reason, we did not like
. Have not yet read
. Looking forward to that book and Ms. Hannah's many others.
I first read Winter Garden. I loved it. For many reasons. History of Leningrad, Russia....later I watched a film about this city in WWII. Also, for the multi leveled story of the two sisters and relationship to the Mother who had suffered so horribly in Russia. Also for the secrets she kept hidden. And for the terrific characterizations. Kristen Hannah is quite an Author, one who just keeps getting better and better.
The message abouve with all the titles in the writing is really interesting. I would like to continue reading more novels from goodreads, and hopefully win one of the giveaways.
My first Kristin Hannah book was Winter Garden....which totally captured me, on many levels. A non-communicative Mother, sister dysfunctions as adults, WWII Russian I story....many levels....
I have loved all of her books but Nightingale is the best. Winter Garden is good but so is Home Front, and Night Road. I loved True Colors and the two about best friends, Firefly Lane and the follow up to it. You just can't go wrong with her books.
Winter Garden was my first, quickly followed by Firefly Lane and The Nightingale. Absolutely love Kristin's writing. Need to get started on Home Front now! : )
My first book was Night Road. I read it as a mother daughter book. My daughter was a senior in high school. This book really touched me deeply. I cried and cried, It covered so many of the real feeling Mother's have for their children. The characters were like friends of mine. I was hooked on Kristen Hannah since that first book. I have read every book she has ever written, her progression as an author is amazing. from her earlier simpler works. To her last The Nightengale. She is developing into an amazing author. I love the that her books are about relationships.I can't wait to read the next one!
Firefly lane was my first Kristin Hannah book I read and I was hooked. Now I anticipate reading any new novels she puts out!!
Firefly lane was my first Kristin Hannah book. Loved it. Encouraged a friend to read who went for a mammogram after reading the book and was diagnosed with breast cancer. This book expedited early detection.
My first Kristin Hannah book was Night Road. It was a mother daughter book read. My daughter was a senior in high school. The emotions in this book and the characters felt so real to me. I cried and cried as I read the book. My daughter was not as moved as I was but it opened some discussions between us about things she is facing as a teen today. I went on to read every book Kristin ever wrote. I started by order all her books from the library. I started with the oldest books to her newest. It was fun to watch her writing style evolve. She got better and better. I loved the Firefly Lane books, it was my same era growing up. I love the songs she brings into the stories. It makes it feel like it is really about real characters. I just Love Kristin Hannah! Can't wait for the next book.
I first read Firefly Lane and was impressed with how strong she writes her female characters. I was hooked immediately with her work going on to read a large number of her books. Fly away was a great follow-up to Firefly Lane and The Nightingale was the last work, naturally, that I read. Anticipating the movie version and hoping that she comes out with new work soon!!!
I think I read Home Front or Night Road first. I absolutely LOVED both of them. Her books really make you grow close with the characters...and when they are over...you're like "oh no...now I have to leave so and so" :( But they are VERY well written...and I ALWAYS recommend her to friends that need a good book to read! :)
I have read most of her books - loved them all. You can't go wrong with reading and keeping you interested!
I read Winter Garden first, and discovered an Author I loved! Not physically. But in a Literary manner. She gets into the meat of a problem, and slowly tells The past, present, and future solutions. Her writing is detailed and grabs me and pulls me in. I am sure a new book will be just as worthwhile and enjoyable.
My first Kristen Hannah book was "Firefly Lane" I have now read and own every book she has written. An author who immediately draws you in and holds you till the last page. Never read a book by her that wasn't great.
Winter Garden, and I just put it in my Read Again Pile! Loved this book for many many reasons. It first told me about a part of WWII I had never heard of. It also opened a gateway to the relationship between Mothers and Daughters. Both daughters were different in responses to their Mother’s tragic past. Isn’t this often the truth?
the Nightingale is what got me hooked.. absolutely love her books... I have read Homefront and many more sense I have suggested her books too many people...
First was Summer Island. I live in Kitsap County Washington and adore the San Juan Islands! I have since read every single Kristin Hannah book and eagerly await the next.
