This is a cute book, advising the gentle reader about customs for dress, deportment, entertainment, marriage, travel, health, etc. in the Regency period. If you have read a lot from the period, you may not learn anything new. But it is presented in an entertaining manner for the general reader. If you want more detail, there is a very long bibliography, encompassing both works from the era and later books. There are also some amusing engravings showing fashions and customs. There are a lot of quotes from Austen and her family as well as other figures of the time.

This sounds like it could be a useful reference guide for authors who are planning to write about the period :) (I've read a few that could use the help!!)
