Lindsey Norris is the director of the Briar Creek Library. Her friend Beth who is also the children's librarian is a suspect in the death of her former boyfriend who plagiarized a children's book Beth was writing. The towns police chief is incompetent, though there is a good state detective on the case, so of course Lindsey decides she needs to investigate. I liked the characters and the setting. I didn't like that the ending came out of left field, there should be at least a chance for the reader to solve a mystery novel. The author also goes way overboard in her use of metaphors and in describing what every single character is wearing.
