I really enjoyed this rendition of Beauty and the Beast. It was a first read of this authors novels too. I am ready to read more.
I really liked this one, but cringed a little at all the figures of speech alluring to fire... considering the hero's trauma :')
This one has set the expectations sooo high from this author. I feel that only 2 or 2 other of hers can stand next to that one
Amy, I really agree with you. The other book I really liked was the one where's he deaf. When the Earl.Met His Match.
My least favourite one is Accidentally Compromising the Duke and I canot like Evie at all. Even her husband, Phiebe's brother, is unlikeable.
I loved it. Loved the banter between the two. Parts of it were fun & flirty & then parts of it were sad. I really felt for the Darling Duke & cried for both of them during the last 25% of the book. Definitely wanna read about the rest of the Sinful Wallflowers. Curiously can't wait to find out about who Penny & Eugene also wind up with along the way.

Loved the B&B theme & all the references that paid homage to the Fairytale. Sometimes it's a retelling & you're wondering where they actually came up with the retelling as there's not even a basic nod to the Fairytale.
Leena wrote: "What really appealed to me is the kindness shown towards him."Oh I so agree. Kitty was such a wonder Heroine.
I finished reading today. I really enjoyed this story. I thought it couldn't live up to the hype, but I underestimated Mrs. Reid. It's been a while since I've read this author. I'm tempted to read the other books in the series. @Mamacita.., I was thinking the same thing about Penny and Eugene.
Hope you like the series Lauren! I found the next one a little boring but I liked the 3rd one "A scoundrel of her own" too.

If anybody knows if they get their own book, please let us know.
Lauren, for some reason, part of your comment was cut. Who were you wondering if they got their own book? I've read all in that series.

Synopsis:
Miss Katherine Danvers is a desperate wallflower. Her family is on the brink of financial ruin, and it is up her to save her mother and sisters from a life of indignities. So she transforms herself into the incomparable Kitty Danvers, the fiancée of the enigmatic and reclusive Alexander Masters, Duke of Thornton—once dubbed the mad, bad, and dangerous catch of the Season.
Ten years ago, society and the woman Alexander Masters loved called him a monster, after a tragic accident left him scarred and confined to a wheelchair. His heart exists in cold, lonely exile, until he learns he has a fiancée—a deceptive, clever, and utterly intriguing woman he's never met. Miss Danvers will now learn the consequences of engaging herself to the beast, for Alexander is determined to make her his. Soon, they are involved in a chase, a clash of wills, and though he once vowed to never love again, he burns for the enchanting Miss Danvers. And denying his heart may cost him an exquisite love that happens only once in a lifetime.
Happy reading!
