Is that a new rule, Jenne? I don't remember it previously.

Hello,If things slip your mind, it could mean that your brain is frozen. The only way you can tell is if your head feels REALLY COLD. ;)
Jim
Hey Jenne, Just a quick reminder like you asked that I won't be here from Friday to Friday next week due to going away for Easter. I have already updated my review for this week to team 16's page, but won't be here for next week's and will resume again thereafter.
Thanks!
Jenne~I'm still having issues with Ubah. I haven't heard from her since Monday or Tuesday. I've sent her message but haven't heard back from her yet. I don't want to use free pass because one person can't make up their mind. I'd like to roll cuz everyone else has their reviews in.
Since we have had similar issues with our team member for the second week, can my team roll as well? The last contact we had with Bouchra was last Saturday. I PM'd her yesterday and you have today.
Jenne wrote: "Go ahead this is the second time it's happened. She's been unresponsive."I just heard from her.
I cannot for the life of me remember what the answer to this is...I have a book that is book 2.5 in a series that is actually 200 pages (not sure why it was not book 3). Can I read that for 2nd book in a series? The book is
Sorry for the delay. Been out all day today....Since they're helmets I'll let them make it. It's kind of a gray area but I think it'll be ok.
Hey Jenne I have a question for 1st in series. Does it have to be labeled as book 1?I was wondering if Anne McCaffrey's Dragonsdawn would count as 1st in series. Only because if you look at the Pern Chronological order it's first but technically she wrote it 9th.

Wow that's a mess lol!Since the page you linked shows it as book 1 also, it would be ok. If you do use it I'd include the link to that page with your review.
Hi Jenne,I have a question about this book:
. It hasn't come out yet but I have the ARC and I don't know what I could use it for. In FictFact is marked as 6th in the series, http://www.fictfact.com/book/146039/s..., which makes sense because the hero is the best friend's of the heroine in book #4 and characters from #5 make an appearance (I did a search for the names.) Because I knew this book was part of the same series, I added the series info to the book (I'm a librarian) but somebody removed it7: FBI Attorney SeriesNow, I'm not sure who did it and why so I'm afraid to add the series info back. In the author's site, she doesn't market any of the books as a series but says they are "related".
So the question is...can I read it as #6 in a series or as a standalone?
LOL, sorry for the long question!
It looks like a standalone (even if it's not), so it would have to be a 1 or a 0 unless it fit the alternate.
Hi Jenne...another question, this time about publication years. Do we actually have to read the edition from that year or are we good to go as long as the edition we post in the thread matches the alternate?
Jenne wrote: "Any edition you read is ok just link the right one when you post your review."That's what I thought! Thanks!
Hi, Jenne,Does the book have to begin with a 'B,' or can one of the words in the title begin with a 'B?'
Thanks!
The book needs to begin with b. Now if there's a the, an, or a first you'd ignore those. So The Best would work, Red Blood would not work.
Jenne, my team has the done shelf alternate which is space 28 do you know of another way to find out if a book is on a shelf without going through all 500 pages of books.
Yes when you're on a book's page, click on genres. This'll pull up all the ways it's been shelved.
Then use the control find feature on your computer and enter in the shelfs name. You'll have to do it through each page of shelves though.
Jenne~I got question for ya. The book I want to use on is one I haven't started. I listed it for SSS. Can I use it for both?
Jenne - I think I know the answer to this question but wanted to confirm...if we have a book that's #12 in the series, can we use it for anything else besides the #12 spot? (Not counting the alternates.)

Another method would be
1) pulling the book.
2) Right after Friend Reviews are the following: Reader Q&A and Lists with This Book
3) If you click on "lists with this book", it will have all list that contain said book.
**I will say I have found Paperback edition may have different lists that then e-book edition based on how the book was shelved.
But this method works a little faster than the method Jenne uses. (Jenne's method works too!)

Ezi I just tried your method, I only see it linking you to listopias not shelves. Am I not doing something right?
Some more thoughts on finding books on a shelf...All the shelves that Jenne used for alternates are not genre specific so if the book that I'm looking for doesn't fit the shelf very obviously, I look at several things before checking all the pages in a shelf:
a) shelf title (I can tell without clicking on it that "Beautiful Covers" will have a lot of YA)
b) number of books in the shelf
c) books in the first couple of pages
d) number of people who shelved the first book with that shelf (which you can see a note next to the book - shelved X times as Y.)
That will give you the flavor of books in that shelf and you can gauge if the book that you are interested is likely to be in there. Very popular books are in many shelves (we have a running joke in another group I'm in about Harry Potter...I think we've found it in every imaginable shelf, not matter how unlikely.)
If a shelf is not used by many people (which you can see by d), then the likelihood that a particular book is in the shelf might be low unless you happen to have the same taste as one of the "shelvers". For instance, "Made Me Cry" is used by a lot of people (judging by the over 1,000 people who shelved the first book like that) while "Read Me" isn't as popular (first book was shelved by 6 people).
BTW, Jenne. The "Set Aside" link doesn't work in my thread...don't know if it's only for us or just for everybody else...
Too bad it's not for shelves, would be super fast!Everyone's "Set Aside" link should be working now.
@Jenne, if we don't have a review in yet from one of our team mates, should I contact the person or do you? (first time captain here) :)
Go ahead and send her a pm. I'll keep an eye on the thread too. I'll send one later this afternoon if you haven't heard from her by then.
Jenne, I have a question.I want to read
I know it's third in the series as I if you don't read them in order you would be super confused. Goodreads has book one and two listed as Mort Grant #1#2, but The Unforgivable Fix is listed as A Justice Novel..but it says..on the heels of her runaway hits The Fixer and Red Hot Fix comes this novel...so I know it's #3...can I use it? Or because it doesn't say #3 does that count it out? I really need to read this one as I got #4 waiting to be reviewed too..lol.
