Shim (slimmy) | 3539 comments The updated book page with the new design no longer updates the information immediately after editing the book details.

E.g. I change the publication date or author, and hit save, then go back to the book details. Even if I refresh a bunch or even if I open the book page in a new browser or a private browser window, the updated details still take a while to show up.

This is fairly annoying as it's useful to check that the edits I just made are working.

It used to happen immediately before the page was redesigned.

Is there any workaround?

Shim (slimmy) | 3539 comments Yea thanks, I did try that, they weren't very helpful. Was hoping someone here had a workaround.

When I wasn't sure I have clicked on edit again just to make sure it was changed. In almost every email, Support mentions the cache time so I don't think they have anything else to add.

How would we have a workaround? We cannot influence the cache on the book page.

Arenda | 26447 comments It depends what details of a book were changed. Some details are visible on the "all editions" page of that book. I don't think the "all editions" page is cached like the book page.

Scott | 8970 comments I notice that the title changes immediately but the author does not. Which makes it hard to know if we've moved it to the correct profile.

I don't know. Maybe there's some known page to go to that will show the correct information after the edits. Maybe some trick to refreshing the local cache. Maybe there's a way to disable the redesign. I don't know why the redesign caused this to break. It's worth a shot to ask.

I also use the all "editions page" or if I changed the author or title I also use the "combine editions" from the edit page, it also isn't cached like the book page.
