Sorry cut me off. So the only thing I remember is that this girl wakes up and takes a drink from the glass on the night stand she notices that the water is cold. But doesn't think anything else off it. But it turns out the the water has been poisoned. Sorry I don't remember any names or the name of the book or what the main story is about I just remember this one scene. Please help me find this book. Thank you

What time period is it set in?
I read it last year either as a ebook or online. It's set in the present like this time period. I also think it might have a vampire theme but I could be wrong.

Supernatural male falls in love with human female
They go to one of his houses I think in the woods or on a mountain. Than someone puts a glass of water on the nightstand for the girl to drink (which she does) when she wakes up she notices that the glass of water is still cold and thinks that her boyfriend/husband put it there not realizing that the water has been poisoned.
I don't remember if the man is vampire, werewolf, or just immortal I just know he is something. They go the the house because they were targets I believe but I'm not sure. The book is set in the present. Don't know if this is the first book in a series or in the middle or if it is just a stand alone novel. I just remember this one scene but I really want to read this book again please help
