NeatMillieBliss | 2 comments I’m new to NetGalley and a little confused about when to post reviews. Am I correct in assuming I can post to Goodreads if the book is listed and then to Amazon after the book has gone on sale?

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 9 comments Yes. Amazon won't allow reviews until the release date, but I don't think NetGalley cares if you're early on GR.

Diana Brown I noticed that some publishers request reviews not be published until just before publication date. They state it on the approval email, so I always read it.

You're exactly right. Or, if you don't want to have to post twice, you can wait and do all of it once it's released. If you like the book and want to help promote it, it's best to get it done within 2 weeks of its release. That said, your NG review percentage doesn't take dates into account at all. If you're late, the numbers are the same as if you were right on time.

Liralen | 20 comments Some publishers state preferences in their approval email, but a lot don't. I've been leaving the review on NetGalley right away and indicating in my note to the publisher that I'll update with review links (GR, etc.) closer to the publication date—and then I set myself a Google Task for the release date or thereabouts so I don't miss it.
