Michael | 4 comments I read this book in 1983, except for the last few pages which were missing. It was probably written in the 70's. I think the author's first name started with R but I could be wrong. I think the title started with M but I could be wrong. I remember it being funny. At one point near the end I think, the male protagonist thought he had made it back to his home universe and was relieved to see that the sky was green as it should be. Sound familiar to anyone? Help!

Ky | 449 comments It's probably not Job: A Comedy of Justice, since not all your details match. Can you rule that one out?

Michael | 4 comments No definitely not Job: A Comedy of Justice. No religious overtones in my book.

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* (marcthedarc) | 79 comments It sounds like something Ray Bradbury would write.

Michael | 4 comments It’s not any of Ray Bradbury’s books.

Ayshe | 4721 comments It reminds me of Eon: Patricia Vasquez searching through parallel universes but she's female and it's only part of book, not the entire plot, so probably not it either.

Parallelities looks similar, but published much later.

Michael | 4 comments Nope, that’s not it. Definitely male.

I think it took him a while to realize he was in a parallel universe. I think some of the humor came from some of the wacky differences between universes. I think he spent a large portion of the book in one parallel universe. I think there was a love interest in that universe, and some sort of action/conflict. But it’s all extremely vague, it was 40 years ago.
